Is Mike Huckabee Too Good Of A Candidate?

Over the last month I have received several Emails and questions from various bloggers and people. Questions like does Governor Huckabee support the North American Union, amnesty, and the Constitution. Well, the answers are no, no, and yes. As I break down most peoples reasons for not supporting Governor Huckabee it comes down to trust.

The truth is that us conservative Republicans have been cheated on and lied to since the first President Bush so now many of us are finding it hard to trust Governor Huckabee and other conservatives running for election. My question is, is it worth throwing away potentially the greatest conservative leader of our life time? As I look over the issues it is almost impossible to find one that I disagree with the Governor on other than a Federal Smoking Ban.

I can't even remember a time that I agreed with a politician on so much who actually had a chance to win. I don't just think Governor Huckabee can win, I believe he can win as big as Ronald Reagan did in 1980 and 1984. The American people are not looking for a weak, middle of the road politician with no core beliefs. I believe they want a principled candidate who will lead and articulate the positions they take, which is why Governor Huckabee would also be able to appeal to Democrats and Independents.

Every time the Governor is attacked by the Club For Growth or Bill O'Reilly it improves his standing with the every day man and woman out there who is struggling to make ends meet and also believes in God. So are we willing to throw all of that away because of a national smoking ban? Or what ever issue it is for you? I am more than happy to have a candidate that agrees with me 90% of the time and if you agree with me please consider making a donation to Governor Huckabee's campaign.

I know at one point you guys were questioning your support for the Governor, but came back over to the "good side" rather quickly. Since then, I know you've been keeping your blog posts neutral to positive about Huckabee but I wondered if you were really ever totally re-committed to the campaign.

I just want to be the first one to say that this is a great post and it leaves no doubt as to where you stand in support of Mike Huckabee.

Thanks for sharing.

I would say that is mostly accurate. I supported the Governor, but I was doing "Trust, but verify". I think he has verified enough to easy any remaining concerns and thanks for the compliment.

D.,
Great stuff! The only Republican candidate that gets thunderous standing ovations from conservative audiences is Mike Huckabee. Will the party brass wake-up to this reality before it's too late?

By the way, the Pack is having an unbelievable season, hope they can keep it up!

Thanks for the compliment. I have a feeling that Huckabee is going to win the nomination with the support of the people making the party brass irrelevant. Just in time for Huckabee to replace them all.
