Truth Squad: Immigration Facts

November 02, 2007

Immigration Facts

- The Governor opposes and will never allow amnesty.

- Governor Huckabee believes that securing our borders must be our top priority and has reached the level of a national emergency.

- The Governor supports the $3 billion the Senate has voted for border security. This money will train and deploy 23,000 more agents, add four drone planes, build 700 miles of fence and 300 miles of vehicle barriers, and put up 105 radar and camera towers.

- In this age of terror, illegal immigration is not only an economic issue, but also a national security issue.

- Governor Huckabee opposed the amnesty bill that was attempted to be rushed through Congress this summer, and opposed the misnamed DREAM Act, which would have put us on the slippery slope to amnesty for all.

- Governor Huckabee opposes and will not tolerate sanctuaries for illegals.

- Governor Huckabee opposes giving driver's licenses to those who are illegally in our country and supports legislation to prevent states from doing so.

- Governor Huckabee believes illegal aliens who try to vote or try to apply for welfare benefits should be arrested.

- Governor Huckabee will stop punishing cities which try to enforce our laws and protect the economic well-being, physical safety, and quality of life of our citizens.

- Governor Huckabee opposes and will not tolerate employers who hire illegals. They must be punished with fines and penalties so large that they will see it is not worth the risk or profitable.

- Governor Huckabee opposes the economic integration of North America that would create open borders among the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

- Governor Huckabee will never yield one inch of American sovereignty.

- Governor Huckabee will take our country back for those who belong here. No open borders, no amnesty, no sanctuary, no false Social Security numbers, no driver's licenses for illegals.

It has been reported that Mike Huckabee supported benefits for illegals immigrants while he was Governor of Arkansas.

Governor Huckabee never supported benefits for illegal immigrants. In Arkansas, illegal immigrants do not receive welfare benefits or food stamps. Governor Huckabee has always, and will always be supportive of the laws and regulations of the country.

It has also been said that Mike Huckabee was in favor of providing college scholarships for illegal immigrants while he was Governor.

The governor only supported the measure that applied to those who met the academic qualifications and applied for legal citizenship. The measure didn't pass. Governor Huckabee stressed that any student would simply be treated as any other graduate of an Arkansas High School, and not given any special consideration.

Critics say that Governor Huckabee's motives behind opening a Mexican consulate office in Little Rock was to court illegals to come work in Arkansas.

The Mexican consulate provided Arkansas businesses with access to Mexico and opportunities to expand their markets, and would help further ensure that immigrants from Mexico are legal and better able to secure legal documentation. At the same time, the office would open up opportunities for Mexican investors to invest money with Arkansas partners, which would help create more jobs in the state.

Says October Was 'Best Month' in Terms of Polling, Money and Continued Media Drive

LITTLE ROCK, AR – Former Arkansas Governor and Republican Presidential Candidate Mike Huckabee said today he had his "best month ever" in October in terms of media appearances, endorsements, debate performances, fundraising, and polling – surpassing all previous indicators of success.

"October has been a great month for the campaign. We're heading into November with tremendous momentum, having outperformed in every category," said Huckabee, who had media interviews this week on every news network. His major appearances included ABC's "Good Morning America," Fox' "The O'Reilly Factor," MSNBC's "All Politics Day," CNN's "Weekend Edition," PBS' "The Charlie Rose Show" – and others. (All told, the governor had 15 broadcast interviews this week.)

On Tuesday, October 30, the campaign surpassed the "One Million Dollar Mark" in terms of October on-line contributions – shoring up growing support with thousands of new supporters. The financial boost came as new polls released show the former Arkansas governor's national numbers climbing into – and staying – in the double-digits.

The campaign's online monthly fundraising goal was also hit on Wednesday, October 31 -- surpassing the amount by $1.00 that the campaign had taken in through all direct mail, on-line efforts, and fundraising events for the Third Quarter combined. Huckabee said his high profile media appearances and favorable performance in four presidential debates in the past six weeks (Values Voter, PBS, MSNBC and FOX), coupled with movie star Chuck Norris' endorsement, and his rise to third place in national polls, have contributed to the campaign's "best-ever fundraising performance."

"I'm grateful to the people who attended the Values Voter Summit and gave me a 5:1 advantage over my nearest rival – as well as to Chuck Norris, and people all across America , like Eric Deussing, who support my message and candidacy for President," he said. Deussing's contribution on Tuesday evening put Huckabee over the one million dollar mark in terms of on-line contributions for the month.

Citizen Under Attack By Out Of Control School

Here is a disturbing article on how out of control our schools are becoming that I found on jCircadian.

Here’s another great example of what we get in return for taxes. From Boortz:

The government school district in Galveston, Texas is threatening to sue a parent for what the school district says is libelous material on the parent’s website. Sandra Tetley runs a site – www.gisdwatch.com – where she posts information about the local government school system and its officials. If she does not remove the statements from the website, the strict plans to sue her. [read more]

Favre Hysteria

For the last couple of years I have put my life at risk by complaining about all of this constant Favre loving, no matter what mistakes he makes. While I believe we have to respect him for his accomplishments, we also have to realistically evaluate his play and actions and that is what the sports media has not been doing for years now. Now I see I am not the only one. Here is a great editorial from the Appleton Post-Crescent. [read here]

Huckabee’s Nov. 7 schedule includes a 10:00 a.m. tour of Iowa Metal Spinners, 7314 Chancellor Drive, Cedar Falls; and an 11:30 a.m. Meet Mike Huckabee lunch at Doughy Joey’s Peetza Joynt, 300 W. Fourth St., Waterloo. The former Arkansas governor will speak at the University of Northern Iowa’s Maucker Union in Cedar Falls, at 2:00 p.m. His final stop of the day will be a 5:30 p.m. Meet Mike Huckabee event at the Kirkwood Community College Center, 111 West Third St., Vinton.

On Thursday, Nov. 8, Huckabee will be in Cedar Rapids at 9:00 a.m. for a meeting with local supporters at the Crowne Plaza, 350 First Ave., NE, before departing for campaign events in Michigan.

Recent polling by the Rasmussen Reports shows Huckabee is locked in a “virtual tie for second place” in Iowa and has climbed to third place nationally in the contest for the 2008 GOP presidential nomination. Huckabee’s campaign has also seen a marked increase in fund-raising, with online contributions since Oct. 1 nearing $1 million.

Republican Party Of Wisconsin Press Release

Hillary Scares Voters

October 31, 2007

MADISON – The scariest of scares this Halloween might have been Hillary Clinton’s performance at the Democratic presidential debate last night. Executive Director of the Republican Party of Wisconsin, Mark Jefferson, had the following statement:

“Instead of the overly-polished act Senator Clinton has been running on for months, last night Americans got a taste of the real Hillary Clinton.
They were treated to a defensive politician who dodges tough questions and gives conflicting answers to confuse voters.

By refusing to pledge to stop Iran from developing nuclear weapons or say whether illegal immigrants should get driver’s licenses, Hillary showed the country a lack of conviction. Americans deserve a courageous leader who can face our country’s challenges with a purpose.”

Founding Fathers Quote

The moment the idea is admitted into society that property is not as sacred as the laws of God, and that there is not a force of law and public justice to protect it, anarchy and tyranny commence. If `Thou shalt not covet' and `Thou shalt not steal' were not commandments of Heaven, they must be made inviolable precepts in every society before it can be civilized or made free.

Special Thanks

The Huckabee campaign reached it's fundraising goal for October 31st. We would like to send out a special thanks to all the new Huckabee supporters and all who gave to the campaign.

MILLER MAKES CONCESSIONS;
BOYCOTT AND ANTI-MILLER PR CAMPAIGN END

Catholic League president Bill Donohue explained today why the protest of the Miller Brewing Company has ended:

“From the beginning of the Folsom Street Fair controversy, the position of the Catholic League has been that it was insufficient for the Miller Brewing Company to simply apologize for the misappropriation of its logo on an offensive Last Supper promotional poster. What we wanted was an acknowledgment that there were other extremely disturbing anti-Catholic aspects to this event. We have now secured that missing piece. Miller is now saying that following a review of what happened, ‘we are aware of other disrespectful activities, objects and groups associated with or present at the fair which, like the promotional poster, violate our marketing policies. We extend our original apology to include these unfortunate events and items as well.’

“This has been a team effort. We are particularly grateful for the support that several bishops and ad hoc groups have shown, especially the wonderful people in Michigan’s Chaldean community.

“The Catholic League is happy that Miller has reconsidered this ugly issue and has no plans to revisit it again. Accordingly, the boycott is off. So, too, is our anti-Miller PR campaign. There may very well be a follow-up meeting with the principals to this controversy; we welcome such an opportunity to convey our concerns to the Miller brass. Now it’s time for everyone who enjoys Miller beer to resume consumption again.”

Dems Open Fire On Hillary

For my valued readers I suffered through the Democrat debate tonight and it actually ended up being worth my time. The most important thing to come out of tonight's debate is that everyone of these candidates are severely flawed and could be defeated when confronted by true conservative ideals. The socialism that was dripping off of each and every word was shocking. These are the types of statements that used to be only whispered in a dark room. This is why the Republican Party must nominate a true conservative who can contrast the Democrats' socialist agenda with a limited government, pro-growth agenda.

Edwards and Obama came out swinging at Hillary. At several points she was glaring back at them. She also supported giving drivers licenses to illegal aliens. This will hurt her big time in a general election and even in the Democrat Primary. The not so little secret is almost as many Democrat voters want the border secured as Republican voters. This is why our Republican nominee must be strong on securing the border and honestly dealing with this immigration issue. To counter the strong socialist agenda the Democrats articulated tonight the Republican nominee must have a detailed agenda for reigning in the outrageous spending that has went on in the Bush Administration as well as on Iraq, energy independence, and the economic crisis this country is facing.

After watching several Democrat Debates now I am more convinced than ever at how weak their field is, but we can't beat them by simply sitting back and saying they are evil. We must have a positive, detailed, conservative message that is easily articulated across this nation. Obviously, nominating Giuliani who is a Republican in name only will not accomplish this. You cannot beat a socialist, big government Democrat by running their Republican twin.

Don’t Bet on Kagen Coming Clean

October 29, 2007

MADISON – A week after questionable donations to Congressman Steve Kagen’s reelection campaign surfaced, Kagen still hasn’t provided his constituents with any answers. Yet, he’s had plenty of time to wager a case of beer on tonight’s Packers’ game.

“Of course, a Packers win tonight is a priority for folks in Wisconsin. However, if Kagen has enough time to make bets on a football game, he should have time to answer questions about some potentially illegal donations from his children,” said Mark Jefferson, Executive Director of the Republican Party of Wisconsin.

Records show Kagen’s four children, all listed as students, donated the maximum of $4,600 to his campaign on the last day of the reporting period in September. Even worse, this isn’t the first time. In 2005, three of Kagen’s children maxed out on the same day.

Under state and federal law, it is illegal to funnel money from one person to another for the purpose of making a political contribution.

The Republican Party of Wisconsin asked the following questions of Congressman Steve Kagen:

• Whose money did your children donate to your reelection campaign – yours or theirs?

• If it was their money – how did they earn it as students?

• Was it a coincidence your children donated to your campaign on the same day?

• As a congressman who claims to hold the highest of ethics, did any of your children’s donations violate the law?

Jefferson said Kagen should stop dragging his feet and answer the questions. His constituents deserve to know the truth.

Senate Dems Redouble Commitment to Big Government

October 24, 2007

MADISON – Not happy without their $18 billion in tax increases, Senate Democrats overthrew leader Judy Robson today, giving the reigns to big spender Russ Decker. Chairman of the Republican Party of Wisconsin, Reince Priebus, had the following statement:

“By organizing a coup just hours after Republicans in the legislature forced them to keep their hands off billions of dollars in higher taxes, its clear Wisconsin Democrats simply won’t be happy until they’ve taken taxpayers to the cleaners.

Russ Decker says he brings a “stronger message” to the table than Robson.
We all know that’s code for making sure the Democrats get their tax increases.

Make no mistake, Democrats have moved further to the left, and taxpayers will see the difference between the two parties become even clearer in the months ahead.”

Make An Impact On This Primary, Donate Before The 31st

Governor Huckabee is less that $100,000 away from his online fundraising goal, which ends October 31. It is vitally important that everyone give and that you encourage your friends and family to do so also. Governor Huckabee even has A Buck For Huck option to give a dollar to the campaign. Not only do dollars add up, but every donation is counted and shows the strong support the campaign has based on total number of individual donations.

Press Release: Presidential Candidate Mike Huckabee Offers Words Of Comfort After The Death Of South Carolina Students

October 30, 2007

Little Rock, AR – Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee issued the following statement in response to the death of six University of South Carolina students and a student from Clemson University in a Sunday morning house fire in Ocean Isle, NC:

"Janet and I extend our prayers to the families, friends, classmates, and all who knew the seven students, who lost their lives in Sunday's tragic fire. These young men and women had their entire lives ahead of them. As a parent, I cannot imagine the anguish the families are experiencing at this time, however as Matthew 5:4 teaches us, "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted."

Green Bay Defeats Denver 19-13 In OT

This was a good win putting Green Bay at 6-1. This is considerably better than I thought we would be this season. The running game showed considerable improvement, though it is also the first time we committed to the run for an entire game. Grant had 104 yards on 22 attempts and probably has sewn up the starting position. Favre had a good night completing 21 of 27 for 331 yards and 2 TD's. Our receiving corps was on fire. A couple of stand-outs were Jennings with 6 receptions, 141 yards and 1 TD; Jones with 3 receptions, 107 yards and 1 TD; Driver's numbers, while not spectacular, came at key points in the game and his leadership is invaluable.

A couple of stand-outs on defense would be Kampman and Hawk, but in general the rest of the defense appeared a step slow tonight. There were also several ridiculous penalties through out the game that allowed Denver to stay in it. Click here for a game recap.

Packers Pre Game Report

It is great to have the Packers on Monday Night Football. I look for us to try and run the ball more and continue with quick passes. Our defense should be able to have a field day with Denver's offensive line. Hopefully we can pad our sack stats. I am hoping AJ Hawk can step up and have a big game and Favre can minimize turnovers. I will predict Packers 28 and Denver 17.

NFL Preview - Green Bay (5-1) at Denver (3-3)

By Scott Garbarini, Sports Network
The Sports Network

With baseball now over, Denver's beloved Broncos will try to give the city a lift when they welcome Brett Favre and the resurgent Green Bay Packers to Invesco Field at Mile High for an interconference showdown Monday night.

The Colorado Rockies' unanticipated magical run into the World Series had understandably drawn most of the attention in the Mile High City, and had also helped take the focus off the Broncos' inconsistent play through the first seven weeks of the NFL season. After squeaking by both Buffalo and Oakland in its first two games, Denver was handed three straight losses, including an embarrassing 41-3 drubbing by fellow AFC West member San Diego at home in Week 5. MILLER’S LATEST APOLOGY REJECTED

Catholic League president Bill Donohue commented today on Miller’s apology of Oct. 26:

“They either don’t get it or they think we’re stupid. Miller’s latest apology is nothing but a rehash of what it has been saying all along—it limits its apology to the use of its logo on the offensive Last Supper promotional poster for the Folsom Street Fair. But it still refuses to apologize for the anti-Catholic nature of the event itself As we have repeatedly said, sacred symbols were sold as sex toys at the Miller-sponsored event, a stripper and a man dressed as Jesus were hoisted in cages above a Catholic church on a Sunday, and men mocked nuns in the street. Evidently, Miller thinks these kinds of things are okay.

“In the latest news release on this subject, Miller VP Nehl Horton said, ‘when one group actively disrespects another, we cannot support its events and activities.’ This is a fine statement, if only it were true. The fact is Miller has made no pledge not to sponsor the Folsom Street Fair again. Accordingly, we will continue the boycott and the anti-Miller PR campaign. Regarding the latter, we are mailing the incredibly shocking photos of the Folsom Street Fair to the following Milwaukee groups today:

· Pan-African Community Association
· 13th District Neighborhood Association
· Avenues West Association
· Merrill Park Neighborhood Association
· Lincoln Village Business Association
· Milwaukee Police Association
· Electrical Contractors Association
· Fairfield Place Association
· Mitchell Street Association
· American Subcontractors Association

“If Miller pledges not to sponsor another anti-Catholic event, we will drop the boycott and the anti-Miller PR campaign. But not until it does.” Contact Miller VP Nehl Horton at

RED SOX WIN WORLD SERIES

This was a great year and a great World Series. As a life-long Red Sox fan I have learned to not take anything for granted when it comes to the World Series. Now the team needs to go out and get Alex Rodriguez. With our young talent that would guarantee us supremacy. With the Yankee Empire crumbling and in decay we need to take advantage of every opportunity we get. Here is the recap of the game.

Brazil To Increase Military Spending

Brazil announced that it will be increasing it's military spending. I believe this is in response to the rapid arming of Venezuela. It will be interesting to see if this gets mentioned on the campaign trail. With China expanding it's influence into South America the United States is going to have to be more pro-active in building up our allies' military capabilities and economies. Click here for the details.

Alex Rodriguez Opts Out Of His Contract

Now that Rodriguez is on the market I hope the Red Sox go out and get him. I am sick of the Yankees always stealing our players away, like Johnny Damon. It is time we take one away from their crumbling empire. Click here for the details.
