The Tenth Amendment Centers has a great article about the causes of the American Revolution and the comparisons of what is happening in America today. Note that Mr. Rob Natelson points out that the fault did not lay completely with King George, but also on the shoulders of citizens who demand that government fix our problems; you know lazy people who don't want to sacrifice any comfort or privilege to make things right.
These citizens demanding bigger government are neighbors and even friends and family, who don't understand that they are stealing and ultimately committing acts of war against their own hard working classes.
"they have launched an unbridled and unprincipled political war against their fellow citizens."

A BIG HELLO FROM CAPE BRETON ISLAND...
I just finished trying to convince my mother in law(an avid Obama Woman) that the road our nation has been going down is wrong. She simply can't get over her feeling of elation that a black man is president, and trying to convince her that its not his skin color but his policies that I dislike is a whole other story.
I am still wondering what will be the wake up call to Americans that will be the line drawn in the sand.
Or will we simply be like the frog who was slowly cooked in a pot of water until it reached a boil and he was dead.
Lucky,
Unfortunately, in revolutions of every kind there are the blind and even those who remain loyal to the tyrannical government even at the expense of betraying all they love. I don't understand this kind of loyalty to an entity that takes everything from you and leaves nothing but an empty, spineless shell. I pray that all our loved ones see the light eventually, before it is too late.
