Good morning everyone. It is a beautiful, windy Wisconsin day on the lakeshore again. It has been a much cooler summer than normal (so much for global warming - and climate change has been around since creation). In fact, it has been cold and gloomy quite a bit this year. That is what tomorrow is supposed to be, so I am enjoying today while I can.Do you ever have a moment from time to time, in your busy adult lives, where everything seems to stand still and you are taken back to your childhood? Maybe it is a hot, still summer day when the sun is beating down on a meadow with the buzzing of a Katydid. It might be walking in the shade of a woods with the Robins chirping. Sometimes the smell of Lilacs on the breeze or home baked bread remind me of Grandma. Listening to the babble of a creek remind me of the old farm growing up.
Every once in a while a sound, a smell, the warmth of the sun on your face, or the bite of Jack Frost on your nose reminds you of simpler times. Memories of growing up when we did not have the worries and schedules we do now; when we were carefree and oblivious to the world around us. Moments of happiness that stay with us our whole lives.
I love those moments; like time standing still. You can almost see God in his creation. They don't come often enough and they don't linger very long. The next time it happens for you savour and cherish it; you don't know if you will be privileged to experience it again.

Thank you for this - a poignant reminder to stop & appreciate the blessings we normally rush past. And you thought I was going to say, "smell the roses."
Rev. Paul,
I actually did think you were going to say that;-)
