Esther at A Catholic Mom in Hawaii was kind enough to bestow upon us the Honest Scrap Award; thank you Esther for this honor.
THE RULES
In accepting this award, I need to do the following:
1) Say thanks and give a link to the presenter of the award.
2) Share "ten honest things" about myself.
3) Present this award to 7 others whose blogs I find brilliant in content and/or design, or those who have encouraged me.
4) Tell those 7 people that they've been awarded HONEST SCRAP and inform them of these guidelines in receiving it.
Sincer Esther bestowed this award upon us both we are going to split the ten honest things between us.
DR'S FIVE HONEST THINGS:
1) Even though anyone who knows me would consider me a man's man I secretly like the theater, opera, and the occasional chick flick.
2) I have been a book worm since my youth; often being referred to as a walking computer.
3) I don't always keep up with my Bible reading like I should.
4) I need to be more patient on moving back down South and realize that it will be in God's timing and not my own.
5) Since being bit by a snake as a child I have been disgusted and I cannot stand the sight of them. I know they are God's creation, but I personally could do without them.
SR'S FIVE HONEST THINGS:
1) Growing up I was quite the neighborhood terror. I used to instigate the neighbor kids to join me in harmless, but annoying pranks on all the other neighbors.
2) I grew up on a farm with hard-core work ethic parents and am really quite a strong person, but I hated being pushed so hard to do so much and in my adult years have sunk into many weak and lazy habits. I complain a lot.
3) I hate chick flicks, romance, the opera, and the theater. If I am going to watch a movie, the more action the better. However, with that said, DR did get me hooked on Audrey Hepburn; I especially like Roman Holiday. I also like Tortilla Soup and meet Joe Black. Now to redeem myself I also like Kelly's Heroes, A Bridge Too Far, Aliens Vs. Preditor, Matrix, Lord of the Rings, the Patriot, Gladiator, Batman Begins, Iron Man, James Bond, Bourne Identity, Star Wars, and Ultra-Violet to name a few.
4) I hate baking and cooking, even though I am good at it. But, I do it whenever my schedule allows. With that said, DR is a much better cook then I will ever be.
5) I hate to clean, but love to organize. I know this sounds contradictory, but cleaning is a chore to me, however organizing is a stress reliever. I love it. I can organize a closet for hours and be completely happy afterwards.
OUR 7 AWARD WINNERS:
1) Way Up North
2) WEBSTER'S BLOGSPOT
3) Irate, Tireless Minority
4) Wintery Knight Blog
5) LUCK'S RANTS
6) Texas Fred

Oh, SR--Bond, but not Mission Impossible? However, I hear ya in #2. And DR--careful with those chick flicks.
And heck, the both of you may have just spared yourselves some hot time in purgatory with those 'honest things.'
Fine job; fine job, indeed.
Happy Fourth!!
Lara,
I actually was going to put Mission impossible on my list; then I realized a lot of my ACTION movies had romance in them, ugh! That is why you will never see Pearl Harbor on my list. I just couldn't take the torture anymore;-)
Well Thank you for the award. 10 honest things eh? I'll have to think about that for a bit.
Lara,
Trust me, I only like the occasional chick flick like Les Miserables and Roman Holiday. I hope you are right about purgatory;-)
Call Me Mom,
You write from your heart, you deserve an award. I only had to do five and it was hard.
SR,
I believe SR's not being completely honest. If it has Johnny Depp in it, it does not matter how sappy it is she will watch for hours;-)
