Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- Congressman Bart Stupak, whose amendment to ban abortion funding from the House health care bill, has seen President Barack Obama's call and raised him. Well ain't that ... special.
This isn't a matter of "if it contains abortion funding, then it is a bad, bad bill. But if it doesn't contain abortion funding, we can all live with it." Bologna!
I understand the notion that "mankind is more disposed to suffer while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves," but this is just going way too far.
It's an illegal, unconstitutional power-grab, with or without abortion funding. Why? Because the federal constitution makes very plain that any power not expressly granted to the central authority is reserved the States and the People.
If Congress (or anyone else for that matter) wants to transfer that power to the central government, then there's a procedure for doing so. Violate it, and there's going to be hell to pay. I can guarantee you that!

It is simple; it is not Constitutional. You are absolutely right, but that argument, unfortunately, will not win enough support to defeat this monstrosity so we must slowly pick off support any way we can.
