Gov. Sanford Discussing Socialism And The Direction America Is Headed In

Catholic League News Release

Catholic League president Bill Donohue today accused the
New York Times
of showing a bias against the Catholic Church:

“In today’s
New York Times
, there is a 524-word story about six protesters who held a news conference on the steps of St. Patrick’s Cathedral criticizing the current New York Archbishop, Cardinal Edward Egan, and his newly named successor, Milwaukee Archbishop Timothy Dolan. On the opposite page, there is a picture of a demonstration at City Hall by union members; in a caption below the photo, there are 39 words explaining the event. But there is no story about it. Other New York newspapers said that ‘thousands’ showed up at the City Hall rally.

“In the
Times story about the news conference at St. Pat’s, it says that protesters questioned the figures released by the archdiocese on the number of priests accused of molesting a minor; they also criticized Archbishop Dolan for not releasing the names of accused priests to the media (as if any organization does this!). What the Times did not find newsworthy is the story about a rabbi who is accused of sexually abusing his own daughter for years, beginning when she was 9 years old. There has been no story on this all week. (The Daily News and the New York Post
both covered this story, though neither gave it the kind of front-page attention they almost always give to miscreant priests.)

“So there we have it. Six people show up at a rally to slam two high-ranking Catholic bishops about matters based on conjecture and disagreement, and it merits a sizeable story. But there is no story on thousands who show up at another rally on the same day, and there is no story about a rabbi who is accused by his daughter, his son and his ex-wife of sexually molesting his own child for years.

New York Times has some explaining to do.”

The Liberal Justification

It has been occurring to me, more and more, that the liberals are like the prejudice and brutal groups that are involved in the many atrocities through out the world and through out history. I know liberals will lash out and be very angry at this comparison, but for those with an open mind and a conservative heart give me a chance to explain.

Liberals are always judgemental and domineering in their beliefs and agendas; it is their way or the highway, literally. When Conservatives dare to express or exercise their principles or religious beliefs the liberals scream and nash their teeth that the Conservatives have no right to do so because it is intolerant, racist, and even criminal. However, they can express an immoral or nonreligious belief they want and force those views upon the children of Conservatives and consider it not only their right, but their duty to do so. They feel this way because it is their agenda to wipe out anything conservative or moral so their own immorality will be considered righteous in a completely secular society.

This has been done to different degrees, around the world, through out the entire history of man. It always starts small, with differing parties, factions, or classes expressing their disapproval of the other. The more liberal of these always works themselves into a state of mind where they are able to justify any action they take to force their view upon the more conservative group. This belief, that they are justified in anything they do to spread their propaganda and doctrine, leads the liberals to make opposing them criminal and morally wrong. Once they reach this point the persecution begins; usually against individuals to begin with so the masses don't rebel. When this does not satisfy their need for power and control in a timely manner they take persecution to the unholy level of annihilating those who oppose them. They develop such a discrimination and hatred for those who hold moral or Godly beliefs that they will advocate genocide and crimes against humanity.

Liberals in America scream the loudest about discrimination, racism, and inhumane treatment when it serves to cover their own sins, but expect them to actually practice what they preach is just absurd. Through out every society where liberalism has lead to genocide it is because the more conventional group is greatly outnumbered, overpowered, conscientious, and unwilling to betray their morals. This has been the case with the Israelites being enslaved in Egypt, the un-civil invasion of the South by Union troops when they Constitutionally seceded, the Jews being massacred by the Nazi's, the genocide of Tutsis and Hutu under Hutu power in Rwanda, the U.S. backing the slaughter of Christians is Bosnia, and the many more examples too numerous to name them all.

Unpopular as this will make me (and I really don't mind, patriots are never popular are they?) we in America are headed for another era of atrocities by the liberals under Obama; unless he is stopped. Whether by impeachment or defeat in the next election, unless he is stopped not only will we be economically destroyed (as a super power) I believe the line drawn in the sand when Conservatives stand up will be the justification the liberals need to attack. How this attack progresses and where it leads will be up to us and what we are willing to endure under socialist and liberal agendas. Remember, they hate us because we represent a moral and loving God who holds us accountable for our actions. When we are fed up we will vote out every liberal, every moderate, and every RINO. Until then we will be under the controlling thumb of socialism.

Catholic League News Release

The following is an open letter by Catholic League president Bill Donohue to New York State lawmakers:

Complaints have reached my office about some New York State lawmakers who are considering a bill, sponsored by Assemblywoman Margaret Markey, that would discriminate against the Catholic Church by selectively targeting private institutions in legislation aimed at prosecuting the sexual abuse of minors. There is another bill on the same issue, sponsored by Assemblyman Vito Lopez, which does not discriminate: it treats private and public institutions the same way. While there are some differences between the two bills, the central difference is in their application.

Please understand that I am not accusing anyone who supports the Markey bill of anti-Catholicism. But I hasten to add that those who do so are certainly giving the appearance of sponsoring bigotry. Perception, it is often said, is reality.

Alabama Governor George Wallace was known for promoting a dual system of justice—one for whites and one for blacks. It is no less invidious to promote a dual system of justice based on other grounds. If a child has been violated, what matters is the crime, not the location.

Anyone who is really serious about prosecuting the sexual abuse of minors wants all victimizers to be treated equally. I hope you agree.

Catholic League News Release

Kansas City, Kansas Archbishop Joseph Naumann has written a column for his archdiocesan newspaper that will appear in tomorrow’s edition; to read it, click
here. It is a lengthy and pointed statement concerning the nomination of Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius as secretary of health and human services (HHS).

Catholic League president Bill Donohue comments on it today:

“Left-wing Catholics who have rallied to Kathleen Sebelius’ side are now in a jam: their support pits them against her Ordinary, Archbishop Joseph Naumann. He regrets that he is not experiencing the ‘joy and pride’ he normally would of a Kansas Catholic being chosen for such a top post in a presidential administration. What troubles him, but not her Catholic supporters, is her relentless opposition to Church teaching on abortion.

“Naumann mentions that Sebelius has long been associated with organizations like Planned Parenthood and NARAL, the two most radical pro-abortion groups in the nation; they are also decidedly anti-Catholic. He mentions her willingness to accept cash from Dr. George Tiller, a man known for killing tens of thousands of unborn children, many of whom were partially born. He mentions that in her role as the head of HHS, she ‘will have to make many decisions that will in all probability continue her personal involvement in promoting legalized abortion and
her cooperation in this intrinsic evil.’
(My italics.)

“It is painfully obvious that those who support Sebelius not only disagree with Archbishop Naumann’s characterization of abortion as intrinsically evil—they disagree with the teachings of the Catholic Church on this fundamental human right. The Catholic League is proud to stand with Archbishop Naumann and calls on Catholics everywhere to support him with vigor.”

Founding Fathers Quote

The spirit of resistance to government is so valuable on certain occasions, that I wish it to be always kept alive. It will often be exercised when wrong, but better so than not to be exercised at all. I like a little rebellion now and then. It is like a storm in the atmosphere.

Catholic League News Release

Catholic League president Bill Donohue exposes the anti-Catholic agenda of “Angels & Demons” (the movie opens May 15):

“John Calley, co-producer with Brian Grazer of both ‘The Da Vinci Code’ and ‘Angels & Demons,’ told the
New York Times that the former movie was ‘conservatively anti-Catholic.’ According to the Times
, Grazer wants ‘Angels & Demons’ to be ‘less reverential’ than ‘The Da Vinci Code.’ Which means he wants it to be liberally anti-Catholic.

“Author Dan Brown says of his latest film, ‘It’s certainly not anti-Catholic.’ So could it be that he simply finds Catholicism fascinating, and loves to weave dramatic tales about it, harboring no animus whatsoever? The evidence suggests otherwise.

“Besides the fact that both producers admit their films are anti-Catholic, we now know, thanks to Father Bernard O’Connor, that their sentiments are typical of those working on the latest movie. O’Connor hung out with the film crew last summer for two days when they were filming in Rome; he was dressed casually, so no one knew he was a priest.

“A person self-described as a ‘production official,’ told the Canadian priest that Brown spoke for the majority of those working on the movie when he said, ‘Like most of us, he [Brown] often says that he would do anything to demolish that detestable institution, the Catholic Church.’ He credited the media for the ‘demise’ of the Church. This same person opined that the Catholic Church ‘is humanity’s chief enemy,’ adding that this sentiment is reflective of those in Hollywood.

“So the cat is out of the bag. We will soon publish a booklet I wrote that will give the public all the evidence it needs to learn how demonic ‘Angels & Demons’ really is. If anyone associated with the movie wants to debate me on anything I’ve said, I would be glad to do so.”

Catholic League News Release

At the close of the Bush administration, the department of health and human services (HHS) issued regulations protecting the conscience rights of health care workers. The Obama administration is proposing to undo those rights. The person likely to enforce the new regulations is Kathleen Sebelius, the nominee for secretary of HHS.

Catholic League president Bill Donohue sees a problem:

“If Kathleen Sebelius is confirmed as the secretary for HHS, she may face a real dilemma: She may be called upon to enforce regulations that strip Catholic health-care workers of their right not to perform, or assist in performing, an abortion. She would then effectively create a dilemma for those doctors and nurses—they would either do what they are ordered to do and risk excommunication, or suffer the consequences. And given that there are more than 2,000 members of the American Association of Pro-Life OB-GYNs alone, it is safe to say that the impending problem could explode.

The Catholic Catechism
is not ambiguous: ‘Formal cooperation in an abortion constitutes a grave offense. The Church attaches the canonical penalty of excommunication to this crime against human life.’ In other words, if Sebelius enforces regulations which deny conscience rights, she will ineluctably put herself on a collision course with the Catholic Church. Is this what the Obama administration wants?

“In 2003, Gov. Sebelius vetoed a law mandating health standards for abortion clinics in Kansas. Her reasoning? The problem with the bill, she said, was that it allowed ‘the legislature, instead of physicians and medical personnel, [to] regulate health care procedures.’ If her interest in protecting the autonomy rights of health care workers vis-à-vis the state was genuine in that instance, then surely she could invoke the same principle again and insist on conscience rights. The time to do so is now: the Obama administration is about to begin a 30-day period allowing for comment on this subject.”

American Life League Press Release

Washington, DC (3 March 2009) – Planned Parenthood’s darling, Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius, is on the fast track to appointment and confirmation as secretary of Health and Human Services – UNLESS YOU STOP IT.

Please sign the petition at

Meet Kathleen Sebelius — President’s Obama’s nominee for HHS secretary. Sebelius is the governor of Kansas, “the late-term abortion capital of the world,” has been endorsed by Planned Parenthood numerous times and has made no secret of her radical support for the abortion movement.

Indeed, she has praised, defended and treated to dinner at the governor’s mansion the notorious Dr. George Tiller – set to stand trial for committing illegal late-term abortions.

As we say in our petition, appointing Gov. Sebelius as the HHS secretary is like appointing Dr. Jack Kevorkian as Surgeon General. Kathleen Sebelius poses a huge threat to the health and well-being of every single American, particularly those marginalized by the culture of death.

Please sign the petition now and send it on to your family and friends:

You can also follow the STOP Sebelius campaign on Facebook:

And Twitter:

Appointing Sebelius is an integral part of Obama’s plan to implement tyrannical new healthcare policies, which means a windfall of your tax dollars for Planned Parenthood. It’s time to fight back!

Catholic League News Release

Since 2004, there has been a congressionally funded voucher program in the District of Columbia. But unless it is reauthorized by the Congress this week, and approved by the District, the program will be terminated at the end of the next school year.

Catholic League president Bill Donohue spoke to this issue today:

“We apparently have money these days for every conceivable government program and corporate bailout, but we may come up short in providing scholarship money to the indigent in the nation’s capital. What is really disturbing about this is the fact that those who claim to champion the interests of the poor are the very ones standing in their way. That’s because their real allegiance is to the teachers unions who funnel money to them; it is not to the poor.

“The Obama children attend the Sidwell Friends School, the same elite school that Chelsea Clinton once attended. Some of the students there come from impoverished families; they are able to do so only because of the voucher program. If Congress fails to act, these children will be kicked out in 2010. No matter what the Congress does, the Obama kids will be unaffected.

“Of the 50 states and the District of Columbia, the District is dead last in academic achievement. Barack and Michelle Obama, like most of the millionaires in the Congress who have school age children, are very well aware of this. Which is why they spend their money on private or parochial schools. It’s time those who claim to be pro-choice allow poor parents the right to choose what school they want their children to attend. Such a choice works wonders, and it does so without hurting anyone.”

Update from the House Republican Study Committee (RSC)

RSC Update: Monday, March 2, 2009

From the Chairman
Another day, and billions more dollars spent. Democrats used last week to spend even more taxpayer money, passing a $410 billion spending package loaded with wasteful pet pork projects. Republicans called for a spending freeze, but Democrats refused to listen. During these tough economic times, American families and businesses are forced to cut back and tighten their belts. Sadly, Democrats refuse to follow suit.

Even worse, President Obama introduced a budget that projects the largest deficit in American history. Over the next 11 years, the White House proposes over $12 trillion in deficit spending; the national debt will skyrocket to over $23 trillion! And this came after the President spent much of the week calling for fiscal responsibility. While the President, Speaker Pelosi and their allies in Congress spend as they please, the American people are stuck with the bill. There’s nothing responsible about that.

We can’t tax, borrow, and spend our way back to prosperity. It’s time to finally shrink the size and scope of the federal government. The country’s economic outlook is uncertain. The only way to restore prosperity is to give economic freedom back to the American people.

RSC Media Activity
Every week, Republican Study Committee members work hard to ensure that the conservative viewpoint is well-represented in all corners of the media. With Democrats still pushing a reckless agenda, Republicans have been busy spreading their message.

Perhaps not. (

Catholic League News Release

Catholic League president Bill Donohue commented today on the myths, lies and smears presented in “Angels & Demons”:

“The tag team of Dan Brown and Ron Howard would have the public believe that Galileo was a member of a secret society, the Illuminati, and that the group seeks revenge against the Vatican today because of the Catholic Church’s anti-science history. All of which is nonsense.

“Galileo died almost 150 years before the Illuminati were founded on May 1, 1776. Yet Brown’s book says the secret society was founded in the 1500s, and the movie says the same. Even though Brown’s own website admits that the group was founded in 1776, he explicitly says that ‘It is a historical fact that the Illuminati vowed vengeance against the Vatican in the 1600s.’ Howard, for his part, has said in an interview that the Illuminati ‘were formed in the 1600s.’

“So why do they lie? Because their goal is to paint the Catholic Church as the enemy of science, and what better poster boy to trot out than their favorite martyr, Galileo? The ultimate victim, Galileo’s alleged persecution is cited as proof of the Church’s war on reason.

“Had it not been for the Catholic Church, the universities would have died during the Middle Ages. Had it not been for the Catholic Church, the Scientific Revolution would never have happened. After all, science did not take root in South America, Africa, the Middle East or Asia. In took place in Christian Europe.

“Galileo was never imprisoned or tortured. His confinement to house arrest, though unwarranted, was more a function of his arrogance than his ideas: he persisted in presenting his ideas (taken from Copernicus, a Catholic scientist who was never punished) as scientifically accurate, something which scientists of his day scoffed at.

“Why do Brown-Howard persist in their demonization of Catholicism? More on this tomorrow.”

Ron Paul On FEMA And Government Control

Founding Fathers Quote

The constitutions of most of our States assert that all power is inherent in the people; that they may exercise it by themselves in all cases to which they think themselves competent, or they may act by representatives, freely and equally chosen; that it is their right and duty to be at all times armed; that they are entitled to freedom of person, freedom of religion, freedom of property, and freedom of the press.

Outrages Of The Day

A couple of things are burning me up today. The most minor of them is 24's global warming crap. How much more scientific proof do they need before they acknowledge there is no man-made global warming? 24 has been pretty annoying this season; a lot of liberal filler I could do without. Hopefully the season improves. I still think the fourth season was the best by far.

Second, and much more important, is our weak-kneed and pathetic RNC Chairman, Michael Steele. I supported Ken Blackwell because I felt Steele would not be up for the job. The more I saw of him the last year, the more convinced I was that he is too moderate for leadership in the Party. I put those feelings aside to support him when he won the Chairmanship and now he is making me regret it.

I have seen him all over cable news talking about how horrible the Republican Party has been and that we need to reach out more. The whole problem is that they have been reaching out, or put another way, selling out. Why is it that reaching out always means abandoning our core principles instead of our Party leadership learning how to govern as Conservatives?

Unfortunately, Chairman Steele is more comfortable joining in on vicious liberal assaults against Rush Limbaugh than attacking the true threat to our Republic, Obama and the Democrat Party. Either get a backbone or do the right thing and resign. It is being reported that Chairman Steele has apologized to Rush; that is fine and dandy, but he should have never joined our political enemies in the first place. I know these thoughts won't make me popular, but I don't care. The Democrats see this for what it is, a war for the soul of our Republic; a war we are losing and not everyone on our side is even willing to stand and fight.

There are some issues that have no middle ground. As I have heard a wise man say, where is the middle ground on abortion and other key issues? The moral core of our government is rotting. We need true leaders like Gov. Sanford, Gov. Palin, and Gov. Jindal, not RINO's like Sen. Specter and Chairman Steele. A lot of us donate endless hours supporting the Party and we are taken for granted. Over at Hot Air I read today that the base will vote against Obama no matter what and that the Party needs to reach to the middle (3rd paragraph down). That is the same garbage they shoveled down our throats during the last election; how did that turn out?

My third and final complaint is the lack of coverage of the tea parties happening across the country. The MSM is trying to devote as little attention to them as possible. Lucky for us, we don't have to rely on the MSM. Faith and Country Blog has pictures and video from the rally in Chicago; stop by and leave a comment. This is a step in the right direction, as far as I am concerned, on the long road to recovering our Republic.

The Obama Effect - Destruction Of The Republic

As most of you know, I just had a baby a week ago. Even though this is our fifth child, each bonding experience is unique and so emotionally moving and what I see happening to our Republic truly scares me. Every good parent wants their child to have a better life than themselves. They dream of greater success and happiness for every one of their children.

That is part of what saddens me today as I listen to the radio and what I see in the media and television programming. I can't say that my children will have a better life than we have; Obama is destroying any chance of that

Tying into my thoughts here is a story I saw on "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" last night; Amber and Peter Augustin have a son who was born very premature and at times did not know if he was going to survive. Because of this Amber started photographing premature babies for parents to provide memories of the child that many would never be able to bring home because they did not survive. These photos are done free of charge to the parents and provide the only recorded memories these parents will have of the blessing God gave them for such a short period of time. I was bawling my eyes out, thanking God that our beautiful blessing, who was only two weeks early, was home safe and healthy with us.

Then I started to think about all the parents whose arms ache to hold their child, or whose heart aches at the inability to have a child at all; all the parents who would eagerly and lovingly adopt an unwanted child. I began to think of all the beautiful little blessings that women so heartlessly murder using the abortion procedure. How heartbreaking it was for me to think of this, knowing that the man occupying the office of President of the United States has no respect for the lives of these unwanted babies and seeks to expand the murder of innocent lives around the world on the taxpayer's dollar.

This is where my side story links to the abomination of the Obamanation; he has no respect for life, for America, for Americans, or for the Constitution. His policies are so extreme that to accomplish them he must destroy everything our Republic stands. People are beginning to wake up and admit that his intentions are not honorable, but many still don't see the big picture. Everything that makes us Americans is everything Obama abhors about America.

They have made it known their whole lives (Obama and Michelle) that they were socialists who had no respect for life, freedom, or the Constitution so why is everyone so surprised that every decision he makes is anti-American? There was no question during his campaign that he was completely incompetent, and incapable of running an entire country so much so that he cannot even introduce a speaker without using a teleprompter and a pre-written speech.

This then leads me to my disgust for those who keep saying that we should not wish for Obama to fail, that we should pray for him to be successful, that we should move to the center and be bi-partisan. Why on God's green Earth would I pray for Obama to be successful in implementing policies that would negatively and detrimentally effect my family and my Republic.

Do they really believe that the Jews should have prayed to God that Hitler was successful because he was the leader of Germany? Just because someone is the leader of a nation does not make them worthy of the power, capable of the responsibility, or in possession of morals or intentions of good rather than evil.

You cannot cloak something evil or undesirable with a mantle name (like abortion, amnesty, bailout, or stimulus) and expect everyone to swallow it as good medicine. Every Conservative needs to speak up and call the liberals out every chance they get. Stop complimenting the enemy and get to work; we must defeat them in every election, your Republic, you and your child's future depends upon it.

Founding Fathers Quote

Each State, in ratifying the Constitution, is considered as a sovereign body, independent of all others, and only to be bound by its own voluntary act. In this relation, then, the new Constitution will, if established, be a FEDERAL, and not a NATIONAL constitution.

Catholic League News Release

Catholic League president Bill Donohue announced today the start of an educational campaign informing the public about the agenda behind “Angels & Demons.” The movie, which opens May 15, is based on the book by Dan Brown. This is the first of several news releases scheduled on this subject:

“Next week we will begin to make available to the public a booklet that I wrote on ‘Angels & Demons.’ It details the myths, lies and smears that are made against the Catholic Church. It also provides evidence of the anti-Catholic animus harbored by those associated with the film.

“Author Dan Brown and director Ron Howard are getting good at this. ‘The Da Vinci Code’ was replete with falsehoods presented as fact, and now the tag team is back again delivering a curious blend of fact and fiction. All done at the expense of the Catholic Church.

“Brown-Howard are obsessed with Catholicism. It is not enough to criticize it—they are hell bent on demonizing it. It is not enough to drag out dirty laundry—they invent it. And the fact that they pay absolutely no price for their propaganda shows beyond dispute that anti-Catholicism is the one bigotry Hollywood likes.

“We will have something to say about the lies tomorrow. On Wednesday, we will address the anti-Catholic sentiments of the producers and film crew. Next week we will release the booklet. By the time we are finished with ‘Angels & Demons,’ there should be few who won’t know what the Brown-Howard agenda entails.”

Benedict XVI: Make workers and their families the priority

Catholic League News Release

Catholic League president Bill Donohue speaks to the nomination of Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius as the new secretary for health and human services (HHS):

“Last week, President Obama called Milwaukee Archbishop Timothy Dolan to congratulate him on his appointment as the new archbishop of New York, effective April 15. That was a nice statement. But it didn’t cost him anything. His appointment of Kathleen Sebelius—one of the most extreme pro-abortion zealots in the nation—to head HHS was not a nice statement. And it will cost him.

“Catholics do not expect that abortion-rights presidents will go out of their way to choose pro-life Catholics to be in their administration. But they also don’t expect them to go out of their way to offend them. Obama has done just that. As I said last night on the CBS Evening News, ‘She is the champion of abortion rights right through term, and for Obama to choose somebody who sews such division within the Catholic community to head HHS really is an insult to Catholics.’ Indeed, she has been publicly criticized by the last three archbishops of Kansas for her radical views on abortion.

“Sebelius is best friends with Dr. George Tiller, one of the most radical abortion doctors in American history. She has wined and dined him, and has accepted money from him. The fact that he has performed more than 60,000 abortions doesn’t faze her. None of which bodes well given her duties at HHS. Moreover, she has worked against the health-care rights of women: she refused to license abortion clinics in Kansas.

“Sebelius once signed a law that calls for the killer of a pregnant woman to be charged with two murders. Someone should ask her who the other person is.”
