Let The Games Begin!

I just have to say that what my husband pulled was uncalled for. I do not have to resort to cheap, trash talk. The Bears have Jay Cutler now; there is nothing more to say so here is a great tribute to the bears.

Oops Forgot! The Packers Suck!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK, before I have a heart attack I have to vent my immense frustration at DR's unnecessary attack against my beloved Bears. Just because I had trouble rooting for them with Orton at the helm doesn't mean I abandoned them. So in the spirit of retaliation here is my response to DR and the Packers.

Packers Draft Day

I got all the kids dressed in their Packers gear and I cannot wait for this draft to start. I am not even going to try and predict who they will pick because the Packers continually let me down on draft picks. However, if it was me I would pick Brian Orakpo - OLB/Texas. Maybe this year it will be different. Besides, it could always be worse; I could be a Bears fan.

I think with one new addition to defense we will be Super Bowl bound. Given the disgrace that is the Lions, Vikings, and not to mention the pathetic Bears, we should dominate the division. Well my wife is starting to give me evil looks so I am going to step away from the computer. It is not her fault, she is a Bears fan.

Here is a classic Packers video to get the day started.

Draft Day And A Little Trash Talk

My wife is a beautiful, intelligent woman who commits one sin that is unforgivable; she is a Bears fan. I know, I know, we all have our cross to bare and as I work towards converting my misguided wife to the light I wanted to send out this loving video.

You guys may have Cutler, but the Bears still suck.

Republican Study Committee Release

April 23, 2009

Job Losses Reflect Failure of Obama Stimulus

640,000 more Americans let down by President's plan

Washington, D.C. - Republican Study Committee Chairman Tom Price (R-GA) issued the following statement after the Department of Labor released data revealing that 640,000 new Americans filed for unemployment benefits in the last week. Meanwhile, the total number of Americans receiving benefits continued its upward climb, hitting a new record of 6.14 million.

"The stimulus is failing to stimulate anything but bigger government," said Chairman Price. "The President promised the American people an urgent recovery when he robbed future generations of more than one trillion dollars. Yet because of his flawed approach, the President's plan has offered nothing but deeper economic misery. With the job market showing only signs of further deterioration, it is time to employ a new method. This big-government philosophy is incapable of providing the sustainable prosperity the American people seek.

"We must recommit ourselves to lower taxes, less spending, and the market principles which created our national success. Only by returning economic power to taxpayers and businesses will we see the job creation needed to restore confidence in America."

NOTE: The Republican Study Committee has introduced the Economic Recovery Act, legislation based on three main themes: 1) Support Families through Tax Relief; 2) Provide Economic Relief for American Businesses and Entrepreneurs; and 3) Save Future Generations from a Crushing Debt Burden.

It does not take a majority to prevail ... but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men.

Thought You Were Free? Thought You Have A Right To Free Speech? You Live In America - What Were You Thinking?

Apparently, freedom of speech is now the target of the Dems and liberal extremists whose purpose and goal is to shut their opponents down and persecute those who refuse to give up. If you dare have different beliefs than them you had better never express your opinion, as far as they are concerned; this is what the Dems want, the ability to throw you in jail for saying what you believe.

I don't recall moving to a communist country, but apparently the Dems are trying to make that move for us all. By creating hate crimes legislation and then adding gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, and disability as groups protected by it all you have to do is say something that is claimed to be hateful (that could be anything) and you could find yourself in the hands of the self made "KGB" of this Democrat fat-cat society that Pelosi, Reid, and the Obama administration are creating.

"We also need to protect those potential victims who may be the recipients of hateful words or hateful acts, or even violent acts," said the Democratic lawmaker.

They might as well be placing targets on the backs of conservatives and releasing the hounds of so-called victims and letting them have at it. Talk about hate, abuse, and racism; the Dems have nothing, but contempt for their political opponents and would love nothing more than to be rid of them.

Sec. Napolitano Cracks Down on Conservatives

Border Violence - Coming To A Neighborhood Near You!

Think border security is no longer an issue? Think again. While everyone has put it on the back burner to worry about the economy the border problems have been growing. Ask your self this would you willingly live in a city with these statistics?

*The largest increase in assaults on U.S. agents and officers was in the San Diego district, where attacks rose 48 percent from 2007 to 2008.

*There were 147 incursions at or between ports of entry for Customs and Border Protection components in 2008, up from 32 in 2007, an explosive rise of 359 percent.

*There were 1,325 incidents of violence occurring at or between the Ports of Entry against CBP agents and officers, resulting in a 23 percent increase from 1,073 in FY 2007.

*Ninety-seven percent of all incidents of violence against CBP agents and officers occurred on the southwest border.

*There were 227 assaults against CBP officers at the Ports of Entry in FY 2008 as compared to 85 in FY 2007, an increase of 167 percent. [read more]

I think the answer is no; so why are you allowing this to happen to your country. Just because it may not be affecting your or your neighborhood at the moment doesn't mean it is not headed there at full speed fully funded by your tax dollars. Obama's administration is going to have to crush it or suffer the repercussions.

Catholic League News Release

Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius, nominated to be the next secretary of health and human services, vetoed a bill yesterday that would have placed new restrictions on third trimester abortions. Catholic League president Bill Donohue spoke to this issue today:

“The veto by Sebelius was a political kickback to Dr. George Tiller, the infamous abortion doctor who specializes in killing kids just before they are born (and in some cases when they are mostly born). It was also a clear rejection of women’s rights.

“Tiller is a long-time donor and friend of Sebelius, having greased her with so much dough that she can’t even remember how much he has forked up. All along he was buying protection from lawsuits, and yesterday he got what he wanted. Sebelius, like all pro-abortion Catholics, says she wants to reduce abortions, yet what she just did was to shield abortionists like Tiller from publicly stating why it is necessary to kill a kid after the 22nd week of pregnancy. Now he can go about his death trade willy nilly, without any accountability. Moreover, the bill would have allowed a woman to sue if she believed the abortionist lied to her about the need for a late-term abortion. So much for women’s rights.

“Sebelius seems incapable of shame. She waited until the 11th hour yesterday to deliver her body blow: she vetoed the bill at 4:45 p.m. on the 10th and last day before the clock ran out. And President Obama wants to put a person like this in charge of the nation’s healthcare? It just doesn’t get any dirtier than this.”

Dems Lie To Get Hate Crimes Bill

Another shocker, Dems lying to get what they want. This is like a golden rule to them; lie, cheat, steal, criminalize to force your agenda upon Americans. The land of the free and the brave? Give me a break! The free are those liberals conducting a coup d'état of the American citizens and the Constitution and the brave are their opponents who are slandered, destroyed, and made political prisoners for standing up against them.

The entire notion of a hate crime bill is unconstitutional. Every citizen in this Republic is to be protected equally. This is racism against whites and freedom. This is the enslavement of America by the Dems and minority action groups. The backlash should be quick and decisive with a vote against every one of them come election day. In the mean time contact your representative and let them know you won't put up with these policies.

Surprise, Surprise - Doyle Breaks Campaign Promise

Doyle is considering raising Wisconsin's gas tax by 3 cents. Wow, we are all really shocked! We didn't see that one coming. "Consideration" in Doyle's world means trying to find a way to make it happen without ticking off too many taxpayers. Too, late! As one of the highest taxpayers (BTW, Doyle, fees are taxes too) in this Republic and getting the least back in return, we are already spitting mad. The governor's election can't come soon enough in Wisconsin. I can't wait to place my vote against Doyle.

Gov. Doyle Could Learn A Lot From Gov. Jindal

Wisconsin is slowly dying, we are hemorrhaging jobs and most of them can never be replaced unless there is a change in the leadership of this state. The honest truth is that Wisconsin is very hostile to employers. This state loves to spend money and loves to tax. I think often our leadership believes that employers have no where else to go. They do not get that there are 49 other states competing for those jobs. Sheboygan, Wisconsin recently lost a couple hundred jobs. It almost appears that the state went out of their way to drive those jobs out, while Gov. Jindal and Louisiana aggressively pursued them.

Bringing New Jobs to Louisiana

Posted by: Bobby Jindal in Untagged on Apr 21, 2009

I visited Monroe last week to announce that Gardener Denver Thomas is consolidating their manufacturing operations into Monroe, bringing nearly 230 new jobs to Monroe by 2011. Gardener Denver recently said that they would either be moving their Monroe operations to Sheboygan, Wisconsin or their Sheboygan operations to Monroe. As the Monroe News-Star reported, this investment will "stimulate the northeastern Louisiana economy for years to come." [read more]

I keep hearing local citizens complain that we are losing so many jobs, while at the same time voting for those liberal politicians, like Doyle, who continue to add burdens onto any company who operates in Wisconsin. There is competition for our jobs so let's fight for them. Isn't it worth cutting some taxes and spending if it brings jobs into the state?

Attention Parents

Irate, Tireless Minority has a must read post for parents. I have been following this case and I find it disturbing, to say the least. Here is a paragraph, but make sure to go to her blog and read the rest.

Wake up call to Parents

There is a
case before the U.S. Supreme court right now that will determine if school officials may strip search students. I find this case particularly appalling in view of the violations of the privileges we have already given school officials under the doctrine of in loco parentis. Those who have read my posts from way back at the American Federalist Blog will surely recall my post there on this very issue. [read more]

Rev. Anthony Evans, president of the National Black Church Initiative, supports a bill by New York State Assemblywoman Margaret Markey that addresses the sexual abuse of minors. In today’s
, he blames the Catholic Church for opposing it. Evans says, “It is a shame we have to fight against the [Catholic] church in this. It breaks my heart.”

Yesterday, Assemblyman Thomas Duane explained why he supports the Markey bill. He said that “for one year after the passage of this bill, adults who were abused years or even decades ago as children could bring charges against the abusers…Not allowing victims to do that is a continued perpetration [sic] against them.”

Catholic League president Bill Donohue commented as follows:

“There are two bills before the New York State Assembly that address the sexual abuse of minors. The legislation sponsored by Assemblywoman Margaret Markey, and the one by Assemblyman Vito Lopez. The Markey bill leaves unamended the 90-day period wherein a minor who was abused in a public school must file suit; it opens the door for one year to those victimized in a Catholic school to file suit, even if the crime occurred decades ago. The Lopez bill does not discriminate between public and parochial schools.

“The real shame is that Rev. Evans and Assemblyman Duane are interested in punishing Catholic schools while exempting public schools. It’s time to call them out on this issue. Since they maintain that the Markey bill applies equally to public and Catholic schools, Duane should introduce a bill that would simply reverse the rules: give those who were abused in a Catholic school 90 days to file a claim, and put no time limit on those who were abused in a public school.

“A reverse Markey bill would also make more sense: most of the abuse has taken place in the public schools.”

Washington, DC (21 April 2009) American Life League, Human Life International, Pharmacists for Life International, Pro-Life Action League, Women Influencing the Nation and Pro-Life Unity released the following statement regarding the nomination of Gov. Kathleen Sebelius to Health and Human Services director.

The groups represent hundreds of thousands of supporters across the country opposed to President Barack Obama’s latest pro-abortion appointee.

"As more concealed information emerges about Gov. Sebelius’ deep and undeniable ties to the abortion lobby, we urge our senators, especially Kansas Sens. Sam Brownback and Pat Roberts, to reject President Obama’s latest radical appointment.

Gov. Kathleen Sebelius is unfit for office.

Gov. Sebelius lied to the Senate Finance Committee when she testified she received $12,450 over an eight-year period from infamous late-term abortionist, Kansan George Tiller.

In reality, Gov. Sebelius received over $35,000 in personal and PAC contributions from Tiller and another $200,000 he donated to ProKanDo, a political action committee dedicated to defeating Sebelius’ pro-life gubernatorial opponent.

Sebelius’ home state senators, “pro-life” Sens. Brownback and RobeWalker, American Life League Press Release,American Life League, Gov. Kathleen Sebelius, Barack Obama, obama administration, abortion, late term abortion, pro-choice, Senator Brownback, human life, rts have a special responsibility to keep Sebelius out of federal office.

These two men have long associated themselves with the pro-life movement. In light of these disturbing revelations, a pro-life senator cannot in good conscience endorse the nomination of a woman so tied to the abortion industry she would misrepresent her campaign contributions to the Senate Finance Committee.

Sebelius is clearly wedded to the abortion industry. This woman belongs nowhere near United States health care.

We are looking toward Sens. Brownback and Roberts to lead the opposition to this radical nomination."

Catholic League News Release

Ron Howard, director of “Angels & Demons,” the movie version of Dan Brown’s book by that name, attacked Catholic League president Bill Donohue yesterday on the
Huffington Post.

Referring to a booklet on the movie that Donohue authored, “Angels & Demons:
More Demonic than Angelic,” (click
here) Howard wrote: “Mr. Donohue’s booklet accuses us of lying when our movie trailer says the Catholic Church ordered a brutal massacre to silence the Illuminati centuries ago. It would be a lie if we had ever suggested our movie is anything other than a work of fiction….” Howard also said that “most in the hierarchy of the Church” will enjoy his film; he denies being anti-Catholic.

Donohue responded today:

“Dan Brown says in his book that the Illuminati are ‘factual’ and that they were ‘hunted ruthlessly by the Catholic Church.’ In the film’s trailer, Tom Hanks, who plays the protagonist Robert Langdon, says ‘The Catholic Church ordered a brutal massacre to silence them forever.’ Howard concurs: ‘The Illuminati were formed in the 1600s. They were artists and scientists like Galileo and Bernini, whose progressive ideas threatened the Vatican.’

“All of this is a lie. The Illuminati were founded in 1776 and were dissolved in 1787. It is obvious that Galileo and Bernini could not possibly have been members: Galileo died in 1647 and Bernini passed away in 1680. More important, the Catholic Church never hunted, much less killed, a single member of the Illuminati. But this hasn’t stopped Brown from asserting that ‘It is
a historical fact that the Illuminati vowed vengeance against the Vatican in the 1600s.’ (My emphasis.)

“Howard must be delusional if he thinks Vatican officials are going to like his propaganda—they denied him the right to film on their grounds. Moreover, we know from a Canadian priest who hung out with Howard’s crew last summer in Rome (dressed in civilian clothes) just how much they hate Catholicism. It’s time to stop the lies and come clean.”

RSC Media Activity
Every week, Republican Study Committee members work hard to ensure that the conservative viewpoint is well-represented in all corners of the media.

· Rep. Joe Pitts (PA-16): The Future of Charity in America; Chester County Daily Local News, April 13.

· Rep. Bob Goodlatte (VA-06): Americans Call on Washington to be Fiscally Responsible; Weekly Column, April 17.

· Rep. Chris Lee (NY-26) Feature: Lee Reflects on First 100 Days; Batavia News, April 20

RSC Legislative Activity
RSC members have made it a priority to introduce productive, conservative alternatives to the Democrats’ reckless agenda.

· Rep. Ted Poe (TX-02) is set to introduce a resolution condemning China’s unacceptable business practices, including the manufacturing and exporting of unsafe products, its casual disregard for the environment, and employment practices that exploit workers.

· Rep. John Culberson (TX-07) will introduce a resolution expressing disapproval of a totalization agreement between the United States and Mexico. Such an agreement would place an unbearable strain on the U.S. Social Security system.

· Rep. Bob Goodlatte (VA-06) has drafted a letter to President Obama that asks the President to consider the potentially devastating economic impact an order requiring a higher ethanol blend in gasoline.

House Floor Activity
The House was not in session last week. The House will reconvene on Tuesday, April 21.

Twisted Sisters Commended

At a gala event celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, a group of homosexuals who dress up as nuns, they were given a proclamation from the California state senate by State. Sen. Mark Leno of San Francisco. The anti-Catholic group then participated in a block party where, of course, some of the men danced naked. As usual, there were no arrests.

Catholic League News Release

On April 22, the House Judiciary Committee is scheduled to mark-up a hate crimes bill sponsored by Rep. John Conyers. Serious questions have been raised by religious leaders about this legislation, especially as it pertains to religious pronouncements against homosexuality.

Catholic League president Bill Donohue addressed this issue today:

“The idea of being prosecuted for reading Scripture may seem delirious, but it is just as crazy to think it couldn’t happen. Consider the facts. When this bill was being considered in 2007, Rep. Louie Gohmert of Texas asked Alabama Rep. Art Davis (his amendment is in the bill) the following question: ‘If a minister preaches that sexual relations outside of marriage of a man and a woman is wrong, and somebody within that congregation goes out and does an act of violence, and that person says that that minister counseled or induced him through the sermon to commit that act, are you saying under your amendment that in no way could that ever be introduced against the minister?’ Davis, who supports the bill, replied, ‘No.’

“In other words, if a deranged person hears a priest, minister or rabbi quote Leviticus 18:22, ‘Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is an abomination,’ and he then proceeds to assault a homosexual at a gay event—telling the arresting officer he was just following through on what he heard in his house of worship—the clergyman could arguably be charged with a hate crime. The very prospect of something like this happening should be enough to make any reasonable person wonder what is going on.

“The problem in general with hate crimes legislation is that it invites the government to probe way beyond motive. And in instances like this, it trespasses on free speech and religious liberty. This is a road no defender of liberty should ever want to go down.”

US: Palestinians don't have to recognize 'Jewish state'

Headline News

Sunday, April 19, 2009 Israel Today Staff

US: Palestinians don't have to recognize 'Jewish state'

The US State Department at the weekend issued a statement rejecting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's demand that the Palestinians recognize Israel's status as "the Jewish state" as a condition for renewing peace talks.

Netanyahu's demand was a response to American and European pressure that he publicly commit to the establishment of a sovereign Palestinian Arab state as the outcome of the peace process. Netanyahu wants to ensure that if he bows to that pressure, the world understands and acknowledges that the other state west of the Jordan River is first and foremost the homeland of the Jews.

Netanyahu presented the demand when he met last Thursday with US envoy George Mitchell. But it was immediately rejected when Mitchell visited Ramallah on Friday to meet with the regime of Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas.

The international community has become accustomed to the Arabs rejecting all Israeli conditions for peace, while Israel routinely caves to pressure that it meet Arab demands. Netanyahu hopes to change that perception during his term, and thus reintroduce reciprocity to the peace process.
