PA still seeks Israel's demise, US-trained army could attack Jewish state
A top Palestinian Authority official admits the "two-state solution" is really just a means of bringing about Israel's collapse, and the American general training up the new PA army reveals those troops could turn on Israel.
Speaking with Lebanon's ANB Television last week, Palestinian Authority representative in Lebanon Abbas Zaki said he personally doesn't desire any kind of peace deal with Israel, but explained that establishing a state in Judea and Samaria with eastern Jerusalem as its capital will be a step toward Israel's destruction.
Said Zaki: "In my opinion, with such a solution, Israel will collapse. Because if they get out of Jerusalem, what will be left of all their [the Jews’] talk about the Promised Land and the Chosen Nation? What will be with all the sacrifices they gave and then they are told to leave?"
Most Israelis are no longer blind to the fact that most Palestinians still harbor a long-term desire to destroy the Jewish state, so Zaki's words surprised few.
More worrying was US General Keith Dayton's apparent revelation this week that the Palestinian soldiers he is currently training could attack Israel in the near future.
Speaking at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, Dayton said, "There is perhaps a two-year shelf life on being told that you're creating a state, when you're not."
Writing in the liberal magazine The Nation, investigative journalist Robert Dreyfuss noted, "To my ears, at least, his subtle warning is that if concrete progress isn't made toward a Palestinian state, the very troops Dayton is assembling could rebel."
During the opening months of the last intifada in late 2000 and early 2001, uniformed Palestinian Authority troops armed with American weapons and training did indeed directly engage Israeli forces and attack Israeli civilians.

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- The results of a new Gallup poll showing a majority of Americans taking a pro-life position on abortion is good news to pro-life advocates who have been engaged for years in the human rights struggle. Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- The Tennessee state House will hold a debate and vote soon on a constitutional amendment that would limit the reach of an aggressive pro-abortion ruling almost a decade ago from the Tennessee Supreme Court. When the debate occurs, a pro-life groups hopes the amendment is approved with no changes.
The amendment is necessary because the Tennessee Supreme Court ruled 4-1 in 2000 that the state constitution allows unlimited abortions. [read more]

The second thing is technology. In the last couple of years ultrasound technology went from a black and white, grainy photo to very detailed 3 and 4-D images. You also have shows like "In the Womb" done by National Geographic, a liberal organization, that I think had unintended consequences. It is kind of hard to deny a life when you are staring at a perfect representation of it. I think that as technology continues to improve it will be easier to spread the pro-life message. A fight that we must never give up on.
How To Curtail the Federal Beast

1.) The Scope of the Problem.
The Constitution gives the Congress only 17 discrete powers. One of them is the power to regulate interstate commerce and another is the power to tax incomes. Unfortunately, but not surprisingly, almost from the time the first Congress sat, it used its Commerce Clause power to tax goods, to control private behavior, and even to prohibit items in interstate commerce. Subsequent Congresses used that power to control the conditions for production and sale of goods that eventually made their way into interstate commerce. And modern Congresses have used that power to regulate any human behavior they wish, so long as the behavior, when combined with other similar behavior, might conceivably affect the movement of goods or persons in interstate commerce. Closing Guantanamo Without a Safe Alternative: Irresponsible, Dangerous, Unacceptable
from the Office of Senator Mitch McConnell
Thursday, May 14, 2009
‘If safety is our top concern then the administration should rethink its plan to transfer terrorists to American communities’
WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell made the following remarks on the Senate floor Thursday regarding the threats and legal questions posed by the potential transfer of Guantanamo detainees to the United States:
“Last night we learned that the supplemental war spending bill that the Senate will take up contains 80 million dollars to be used for closing Guantanamo. But the language of the bill acknowledges what Republicans have been saying for months: the administration has no plan to safely close this secure detention facility.
“And closing Guantanamo without a safe alternative would be irresponsible, dangerous, and unacceptable to the American people.
“Americans are worried that closing Guantanamo by an arbitrary deadline won’t keep them as safe as Guantanamo has, and they’re particularly worried about the administration’s reported plans to transfer some detainees to detention facilities on American soil.
“State and local officials in places like Louisiana, California, Virginia, and Missouri have been introducing resolutions to keep terrorists from coming to their communities. And one look at the experience that Alexandria, Virginia, had a few years ago during the trial of 9/11 conspirator Zacharias Moussaoui makes it easy to see why.
“Moussaoui was just one terrorist, and yet the effect his presence had on Alexandria was enough for the city’s current mayor to state emphatically that he’s absolutely opposed to relocating prisoners from Guantanamo there. ‘We've had this experience,’ he said recently, ‘Let someone else have it.’
“According to press accounts, housing Moussaoui turned parts of Alexandria into a virtual encampment. Every time he was moved to the courthouse, he was transferred in a heavily-armed convoy that shut down traffic and locked down the surrounding community. One security expert recently told the ‘Washington Post’ that housing detainees from Guantanamo would likely be even more complicated than it was for Moussaoui, with more locations for security personnel to cover and even more snipers.
“According to the same ‘Post’ article, one of Moussaoui’s lawyers said that bringing just two or three Guantanamo detainees to Alexandria would be a, quote, ‘major headache.’ And Alexandria’s Sheriff has warned that multiple detainees could, quote, ‘overwhelm the system.’
“Based on the Moussaoui experience, local business owners in Alexandria also think the arrival of detainees from Guantanamo could be a serious drag on commerce. But even more worrisome for residents is the concern that housing detainees in Alexandria could invite terrorist attacks.
“The problems that one terrorist caused for Alexandria would be duplicated in any city or town detainees from Guantanamo are sent to. Although the administration hasn't given us any details on which cities or towns these might be, we can imagine what they could look forward to, based on Alexandria’s experience with Moussaoui.
• Heavily armed agents patrolling local neighborhoods and rooftop snipers
• Streets locked down and access cut off to local businesses
• Identification checks and bomb-sniffing dogs checking cars
• Millions of dollars in costs and strained local resources
“Kentuckians don’t want to live under these conditions. I doubt any other American would either, especially if you consider that any community that becomes a home to these detainees could have to endure these conditions for years, given the possible length of terror trials.
“Some of the other locations that have been mentioned as possible destinations for the terrorists at Guantanamo include facilities in South Carolina and Kansas. One local official in South Carolina responded to the possibility by saying he didn’t have the police resources to deal with an influx of terrorists from Guantanamo. An official in Kansas said Guantanamo detainees would significantly tax his police resources.
“The administration claims that closing Guantanamo and transferring some detainees to U.S. soil would make the American people safer. But based on the experience of Alexandria, it’s easy to see why many Americans are skeptical. The administration has said that when it comes to Guantanamo, its highest priority is the safety of the American people. But if safety is our top concern, then the administration should rethink its plan to transfer terrorists to American communities.”
Everyone please keep this in mind: God has blessed this nation with all its greatness because of the light we have been to the world. With Obama snuffing that light out, that testimony out how long will it be before God removes his protection from us? How long after God turns his back on us will it be before our enemies move upon us?

A.L.L. RALLIES DIOCESE TO TAKE NOTRE DAME OFF CATHOLIC DIRECTORY
Washington, DC (12 May 2009) –American Life League will lead a prayer rally on the steps of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in the diocese of Fort Wayne/South Bend today to encourage Bishop John D’Arcy to remove Notre Dame from “The Official Catholic Directory.”
The group says more than 40 years of dissent from official Catholic Church teaching disqualifies the school from identifying itself as a Catholic institution.
American Life League set up operations in Fort Wayne, Indiana, last month in response to the scandal surrounding Notre Dame and the announcement that President Barack Obama, the most pro-abortion president in history, would give the 2009 commencement address and receive an honorary law degree.
“We’re begging Bishop John D’Arcy to rebuke this attack on the faith. No more will we tolerate Catholic schools undermining Catholic teaching on life, on marriage ... on the family itself,” said Michael Barnett, American Life League director of leadership development in a letter to the group’s supporters across the country.
If removed from the Directory, a definitive list of Catholic institutions in the United States, Notre Dame would join at least four other formerly Catholic universities: Marist College, St. John Fisher College, Nazarene College and Marymount Manhattan College.
“We must pray for the realization that there is no contradiction at a modern university between the search for truth and the pursuit of God,” said Mike Barnett, American Life League director of leadership development. “We’re here to achieve integrity and honesty about what is and is not a Catholic university.”
The prayer rally will take place Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. on the steps of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
American Life League was cofounded in 1979 by Judie Brown. It is the largest grassroots Catholic pro-life organization in the United States and is committed to the protection of all innocent human beings from the moment of creation to natural death. OBAMA APPOINTEE MUST GO
Catholic League president Bill Donohue participated in a teleconference today with other Catholic leaders demanding the ouster of Harry Knox from President Obama’s Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships. He explains his position as follows:
“On April 6, CNSNews.com wrote a story about the appointment of ‘pope basher’ Harry Knox to Obama’s faith-based program; Knox said he stood by his hate speech against the pope and activist Catholics opposed to gay marriage. The next day, the Catholic League, citing several of Knox’s anti-Catholic remarks, said he was ‘unfit to serve.’ Subsequently, people like Rep. Mike Pence have asked for Knox’s dismissal. When questioned about Knox’s appointment, Democratic leaders like Nancy Pelosi and White House spokesman Robert Gibbs always claim ignorance of his anti-Catholic record. Thus, the reason for the teleconference.
“If all Knox had done was to criticize the Catholic Church on public policy issues, there would be no problem. But he is not content to disagree—he must demonize the opposition. If Knox were appointed to an advisory board on the environment, his role would not trigger such a strong response. But when Tony Dungy is pressured to decline an invitation to serve on the same board—simply because he believes marriage should be between a man and a woman—then justice demands that Knox be removed.
“Moreover, Knox, who is not Catholic, has a record of slamming the Catholic Church on internal matters that are none of his business. To wit: he blasted the decision of a priest not to give Holy Communion to a lesbian activist couple, and he accused the Catholic Church of promoting ‘mind control’ and a ‘dangerous’ position for simply saying that candidates for the priesthood cannot support the ‘gay culture.’
“In short, the letter by Catholic leaders to President Obama requesting him to remove Harry Knox from his post is entirely warranted.”

In this article Sowell takes on Obama's agenda to give the Federal Government limitless power by appointing activist, empathic judges to the Supreme Court to interpret the Constitution favorably for them. By interpreting states' right away and giving the power to the Federal Government they will be able to strip your own personal freedoms away. Thank God there are states taking a stand and taking back their power and sovereignty; states like Oklahoma, Texas, Montana, and many more.
DR's post on the NRSC's endorsement of Gov. Charlie Crist has my dander up. DR is right, you know, the NRSC got it wrong again.
I have had enough of the Party betraying its base and our principles. This "narrow-minded liberal's" club has gone too far to the left and everyone of the RINO's have worn out their welcome. This leadership is a complete joke and waste of time and money. They say we need to move in a new direction, but all I see is a bunch of power hungry intraverts who aren't willing to let go of philosophies that don't work.
Everything we are working so hard for, to win in 2010 and 2012, is going to be for nothing because they will never get it; conservative means not loosening your morals to win. All they care about is trying to look like the Dems because they some how have it in their minds that only liberals can win. The truth is liberals only win when Conservatives screw up. They are pushing liberal and unprincipled candidates and refuse to learn from their past mistakes.
They all need to be voted out and shown the door. Since when can a crusty, old liberal represent us better than a true conservative? You cannot just call your self conservative like some label stuck in a coat, you have to earn it by leading a conservative life. Just like all these politicians who claim to be Catholic while living secular and hedonistic lives.
In today's day and age the Party must move away from the liberal left and must embrace conservatives values. They must also actively seek to earn the votes of minorities and add their conservative values to our base. We have a perfect opportunity now with Marco Rubio. He is Conservative; he is Catholic; he is of Cuban descent.
We could not ask for a better opportunity to grow our base and attract conservative minorities. However, once again, the Party leadership flushes it down the toilet for a used up liberal like Crist. I call all RINO's out and challenge them to man up and do the Specter thing; join the Democrats, it's what you are.
We can all get behind Rubio and carry him to a win despite these traitors in our midst. Just imagine the impact he can have on the Hispanic vote in Florida. By what stretch of the imagination do they have the audacity to believe he can't win. As a Hispanic myself I am excited and energized with opportunities like this. It is the shot in the arm that our Party desperately needs.
The Dems constantly court the minority vote and then kick them to the curb when they've gotten what they want. We can win their votes and keep them by showing them a Party where they can truly belong without getting raked over by liberal and socialist agendas and policies.
We need to show this inept leadership what our Party is truly about, that we will vote our principles and not their agendas, and that Conservatives are the only candidates who will win. Everyone of us can make the Party change, by voting what we know is right and not what they tell us will win and by voting together in mass and not sitting out any election because you think everyone else will vote for you.

She is handling it very well, however it is stressing me out. I feel like I am going on 60 instead of 30. I haven't explained it to the older kids yet. I am now sure how to or if I should. The school year is getting ready to end and I don't want to distract them. Though, I doubt they will overlook us heading to the hospital at 5:30 am and then Mom being off of work.
This whole thing would be much harder if I didn't have God and my Catholic faith to fall back on. It really is amazing to consider that the god of the Universe actually cares about my wife's well being. Very humbling and comforting.
Instead he has made it apparent he will only recruit and support RINO's. He supported Specter before his defection, he encouraged Ridge to run, and now he is taking sides in an open primary to support Crist. What good does it do us if we elect Senators who agree with the Democrats the majority of the time. It is just repeating the mistakes of the Bush years. Senator Cornyn should step down.
Until the establishment wants to support Conservatives they should receive no support from the base. I am actually quite excited about this development though. They are not hiding the fact that they plan on blowing us Conservatives off. If we get behind good Conservative candidates like Rubio and Toomey. The grassroots could be responsible for electing Conservative candidates and putting the Party establishment on notice. They believe Crist will raise more money than Rubio; let's prove them wrong.
With SR's surgery coming up our finances are tight, but I guarantee I will be sending something. Five dollars here and there adds up quickly when it comes in from all over the country. This is our Party, let's fight for it. It is our children's future being wasted so men like Sen. Cornyn can feel important. Let' put an end to it at the ballot box.
I know some people are still worn out from the '08 election, but if we sit on the sidelines it will be too late and we will have to choose between the lesser of two evils again instead of having a Conservative choice. BTW, Rubio did not back down. Here he is standing up to Obama's best friend in Florida, Gov. Crist.
Marco Rubio on why being a conservative matters in a GOP primary
After Pope Benedict XVI spoke at Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial, the chairman of the Directorate, Avner Shalev, said that while the pope’s visit was “important,” he regretted that the pope never mentioned anti-Semitism nor the Nazis. Rabbi Yisrael Meir Lau, chairman of the Yad Vashem Council and Tel Aviv’s chief rabbi, said the pope’s speech was “devoid of any compassion, any regret.” Knesset Speaker Reuven Rivlin accused the pope of not asking for “forgiveness,” noting that the pope’s (coerced) membership in the Hitler Youth means he carries “baggage.”
Following the pope’s visit to Yad Vashem, Palestinian leader Sheik Taysir Tamimi forced his way to the pulpit at an interreligious event asking the pope to fight for “a just peace for a Palestinian state and for Israel to stop killing women and children and destroying mosques as she did in Gaza”; he asked the pope to “pressure the Israeli government to stop its aggression against the Palestinian people.”
Catholic League president Bill Donohue responded as follows:
“When the pope spoke at Yad Vashem, he said he had come ‘to stand in silence before this monument, erected to honor the memory of the millions of Jews killed in the horrific tragedy of the Shoah.’ Didn’t Avner Shalev hear that? Or how about these words from the pope? ‘May the names of these victims never perish! May their suffering never be denied, belittled or forgotten!’ Rabbi Lau, never one to miss an opportunity to say it’s never enough, embarrassed his cohorts when he said that the pope’s speech was devoid of compassion. As for Rivlin, he should know that it is not the pope who needs to apologize for the crimes of the Nazis—indeed he was victimized by them. Some baggage!
“The Vatican quickly condemned Sheik Tamimi’s hate speech, as it should have. Where are all the Muslim leaders condemning it? There is a time and a place for everything—and this was wrong on both counts. To exploit the pope’s journey for peace by beckoning him to bash Jews shows how utterly futile it is to have an interreligious meeting with some people. Evidently, Tamimi doesn’t get what ‘Never Again’ really means.”

From the Chairman
For too long, Washington has taken an “out of sight, out of mind” approach to the country’s energy policy. Last summer, when the price of gas topped $4 per gallon, we were reminded that Washington’s approach to energy, like so many issues, is reactive rather than forward thinking. With gas prices inching back up again, the need to employ a 21st century energy approach is as pressing as ever. Yet Democrats are taking a different, dangerous approach.
Currently, President Obama is working with Speaker Pelosi to implement a massive tax hike disguised as energy policy. At a time when families across the country are struggling to make ends meet, the President and his Democrat friends want to take over $3,000 in new taxes from every American family in order to appease extreme political cronies. This is not a solution. It is a recipe for economic disaster.
As we are committed to positive, bold solutions, the Republican Study Committee last week introduced an energy plan that makes sense. Instead of punishing families for using the only energy sources available to them, our plan will promote innovation, conservation, and responsible production in order to provide abundant energy sources and finally pave the way for American energy self-sufficiency.
Fundamentally, the American Energy Innovation Act is an All-You-Can-Create approach that will empower the American people to find the energy solutions of tomorrow. Given the proper tools, there is nothing that the American people cannot create or overcome. By providing incentives to create innovative, renewable energy sources, we can lay the groundwork for a world in which both a healthy economy and a healthy environment can co-exist.
If someone you know would like to join our fight for a 21st century energy solution, please have them join us at http://rsc.price.house.gov.
Thanks for your support!

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- Catholic voters have no reason to vote for a pro-abortion political candidate such as President Barack Obama, a top Vatican official said during Friday's national Catholic prayer breakfast. Catholic League president Bill Donohue comments on media reports citing Pope Benedict XVI’s membership in the Hitler Youth:
“The English and French news services, Reuters and AFP, flatly say that the pope ‘was a member of the Hitler Youth.’ The U.K.’s Timesonline writes that he ‘was in the Hitler Youth and enlisted with the Wehrmacht,’ noting that ‘he had the excuse that this was standard practice for young German men at the time.’ The Daily Mail from Pakistan reports ‘This is a German pope who served in Hitler’s youth corps.’ Israel Today magazine says many Israelis interpret the pope’s visit to the Holocaust Memorial ‘as a stunt to cover up his past as a member of the Hitler Youth movement during World War II.’ In one article, the Associated Press notes that the pope ‘has written that the Nazis forced him’ to join the Hitler Youth, and in another it mentions ‘Benedict says he was coerced.’ Similarly, CBS reports that ‘Benedict has said he was coerced.’
“All of this is despicable smear. The New York Times got it right when it said that the pope ‘was forced into the Hitler Youth and the German Army in World War II.’ Bloomberg.com also got it right when it noted ‘the German pope’s obligatory membership as a 14-year-old in Hitler Youth’; it said further that he ‘didn’t attend meetings and he later deserted when he was drafted into the German army.’ Moreover, his failure to attend Hitler Youth meetings brought economic hardship to his family: it meant no discounts for school tuition. None of this was a stunt. Furthermore, no one can deny that the pope was coerced into doing what the Nazis demanded of young men at the time.
“Günter Grass and Jürgen Habermas, two German intellectuals loved by the pope’s critics, were also forced to join the Hitler Youth. But because they are left-wing icons, no one implies they are anti-Semitic.
“Even Bill Maher apologized when I blasted him for accusing the pope of being a Nazi. The guilty media should do likewise and correct the record.”

China's influence is growing globally and now we have news of just how far they have come in Brazil. This directly effects our trade with the most powerful nation in South America. I have long believed that since Reagan left office we have largely ignored South America.
It is in our own national interest to keep an eye on the continent and to maintain good relations. We should keep a careful watch on the administration to see how they handle the rise of China and their expanding influence in South America.
