Jay Cutler And The Bears - The Future Is Bright

As a Bears fan who had been disillusioned by the whole Grossman/Orton ordeal and the coaching failures that led to the whole situation I see a bright future for the Bears again! I am so excited about Jay Cutler that I can hardly stand it. I already have my Cutler jersey t-shirt (thank you DR for that Mom's day gift!) and I can't wait for the season to start. If Ron Turner is excited about working with Cutler then the Bears are going to go places. Go Bears!

The Ugliest Tax Ever

The Libs don't want you to look at Cap and Trade as a tax, even though that is what it is. Not just a tax, but a very ugly and big tax with potentially devastating effects and every day American families. Average Americans who are struggling every day just to pay their bills and feed their families may find this tax burden too big to bare.

Cheney Bests Obama

You got to love that when Obama attempted to pull attention away from Cheney's scheduled speech with an impromptu song and dance that Cheney simply waits until Obama is finished making a fool of himself and then proceeds with full media attention. Talk about a backfire! Chalk up a win for Cheney!

You also got to love when the British can report our news more objectively than our own media.

Obama really stinks at politics, and is even worse at staging. First of all, as always, he had his tele-prompters. This man's campaign appendages are hilarious to say the least and make him seem small and impotent as a leader (no pun intended). But, who is going to take this man seriously?

Second, Obama has shredded the Constitution and made no bones about it when he made comments that the document is flawed and irrelevant. He spit on our heritage and our founding and then wants us to believe that because he does a tele-prompter speech in front of our founding documents that he can stand up for America? What a bunch of BS!

All Obama accomplished was to dishonor our founding fathers and disgrace those documents by using them to cover up his own irresponsible, socialist, and dictoral actions.

Cheney's speech was the real deal. It is a blessing that he has come away from the Bush administration swinging. He has metaphorically told Bush, the Party, and the libs to shove it. Despite what any of them think he is standing up for America and for Conservatism. He is quickly becoming a leader in the fight against the liberal agenda to reshape and destroy this great Republic.

Cheney was the clear winner in this round of Obama v. Freedom, Liberty, and Sovereignty.

Part III
Part IV

I'm Back!

Well, here I am post-op and was chomping-at-the-bit to post. I had DR set me up with pillows and pads, took my pain meds, and here I am. The surgery itself went perfectly, however afterwards there were complications with pain and oxygen management so they admitted me overnight. I was on so many different pain meds they had to hook me up to an oxygen alarm.

At first I was still in the same pre-op pain, but now that it has been a couple of days I am feeling better. Talk about a humbling experience! When you have never had any major health issues or any surgery you don't appreciate the fact that you are not in control of your own destiny.

Then when you literally put your life in the hands of another human you suddenly realize just how much you need God; you realize that you don't control anything that happens to you. Free will was definitely our greatest gift from God; and our greatest curse.

Because of free will we have the ability to turn our backs on the very one we need in control of our lives. We foolishly deceive ourselves into thinking that we can actually take that control away from God and place it into our own incapable hands. We are all guilty of it to some degree, some (liberals) more than others.

All I know is that as long as God has a purpose for me here on this Earth, I will do my best to keep him at the controls; he is so much better at it than I am any way. I have a tendency of just messing things up. So, a couple more days I should be feeling more like myself again and I will try and get back to the purpose God has placed upon my heart for now (besides being a mother and wife), blogging!

Thank you all so much for all the prayers and best wishes. It helped and with out a doubt, God heard them all and answered them. We cannot go through this life alone, we need others around for help, support, and encouragement and we definitely felt that through this experience. I pray that God blesses each and everyone of you who took the time in your busy lives to pray for and think about a family in Christ you have never met.

May God give you...
For every storm, a rainbow,
For every tear, a smile,
For every care, a promise,
And a blessing in each trial.
For every problem life sends,
A faithful friend to share,
For every sigh, a sweet song,
And an answer for each prayer.

Rep. Michele Bachmann And Chairman Barney Frank Face Off On ACORN Funding

Catholic League News Release

Carla Bruni, wife of French president Nicolas Sarkozy, is angry that Pope Benedict XVI casts serious doubt on the efficacy of condoms to stop AIDS. She said that such teachings left her “profoundly secular,” and she called upon the Church to “evolve.”

Catholic League president Bill Donohue doesn’t agree:

When the pope was in France last month, he urged the people to acknowledge the “irreplaceable” role of religion in society, gently nudging the French to rethink their fondness for secularism. President Sarkozy responded by saying it would be “madness” for his country, which “accepts its Christian roots,” to “deprive ourselves” of religion. Perhaps he should have addressed his remarks to his wife.

It is really saying something when Bruni, who lives in one of the most secular societies in the world, concludes that the pope’s position on condoms is making her “profoundly secular.” In other words, when the pope calls on rational human beings to put the brakes on their libido—so that they may actually live long and healthy lives—he is pushing people like Bruni right over the edge. What a confession this is.

It used to be that European elites did not talk disparagingly about the pope in public. But now that they have embraced the amorality that is the mark of secularism, common decency has been thrown overboard.

Governor Sanford On Restoring Our Founding Fathers' Vision

Gov. Sanford perfectly lays out where we are and what we need to do to restore our Founding Fathers' Republic. If there is only one article you read today, make it this one. This is exactly the type of leader we need in the Oval Office come 2012.

Tea Party 2.0 Update

For those of you who missed out on Tea Party 2.0 The RGA has it up now so you can catch up. I think it is important that we all take the opportunity to self educate and spread the word. With the destructive policies of the Obama Administration and Democrat Controlled Congress we have to take back as many state governorships in the next two years as possible. We have Virginian and New Jersey with races this year and then in 2010 we have 36 races. So let's get informed and involved.

Washington, DC ( -- A new poll conducted by the Opinion Dynamics research firm for Fox News confirms the results of a new Gallup survey. Like the Gallup poll, the Fox News survey finds more Americans say they are pro-life than "pro-choice" on abortion and the number is the highest since 1997. [

Update from the House Republican Study Committee (RSC)

RSC Update: Monday, May 18, 2009

From the Chairman
In recent years, when the Social Security and Medicare Boards of Trustees get together to issue an annual report on the state of America’s costly entitlement programs, bad news follows. Unsurprisingly, the forecast is once again bleak. By 2016, Social Security is expected to begin paying out more in benefits than it takes in from taxes. This shortfall will lead the entire Social Security program to be insolvent by 2037 – four years earlier than previously predicted. Medicare is in even worse shape, with insolvency coming as soon as 2017.

Unfortunately, these projections are par for the course when it comes to government spending. Although Washington is spending more money that in takes in, there is no real effort by President Obama and the Democrat majority to actually curb their habits. Just a few days ago, the President told an audience in New Mexico that “we’re mortgaging our children’s future with more and more debt,” and called the federal deficit “unsustainable.” While these warnings are certainly accurate, it is hard to imagine that the President considers them to be little more than platitudes meant to distract a wary public from his own reckless spending agenda.

By now, it is clear that President Obama has no intention of heeding his own warnings. Thanks to this reckless spending agenda and Washington’s failure to address an imminent entitlement shortfall, our country may soon face a financial disaster. We can remedy these problems before they do more damage, but a real solution will require difficult choices and a commitment to fiscal responsibility. If you believe that positive, conservative solutions are more important than the President’s empty talking points as we try to put our country back on the right track, please join our fight at

Thanks for your support!

Every week, Republican Study Committee members work hard to ensure that the conservative viewpoint is well-represented in all corners of the media.

· Rep. Jason Chaffetz (UT-03): Expose Cap-and-Trade Costs; Washington Times, May 12.

· Rep. Robert Aderholt (AL-04) Fully Deployed, Layered Missile Defense is Critical to National Security; Military Space and Missile Forum, May 13.

· Rep. Patrick McHenry (NC-10): Keep Politics Out of Census; Washington Times, May 13.

· Rep. Pete Hoekstra (MI-02): Cutting Corners on National Security; Washington Times, May 14.

Here is a preview of upcoming Democrat proposals to advance their big-government, anti-taxpayer agenda.

· The RSC has compiled a rundown of various education and labor policies that could come before the House in the near future. Democrats are intent on increasing federal involvement in state and local education. Issues such as No Child Left Behind and School Choice could soon become hot issues in Congress. For more information, see here.

· Today, the House Energy and Commerce Committee will begin its markup on the Democrats National Energy Tax legislation. If you oppose $3,000 in new taxes for every American family, please let your representative know that American cannot afford this job-killing legislation. The RSC has proposed an energy plan that takes full advantage of American ingenuity in order to create and develop energy sources that conserve our valuable natural resources and lead to vital job creation.

House Floor Activity
The following key legislation came through the House of Representatives last week

· Congress overwhelmingly approved of a supplemental measure to continue funding our troops in Afghanistan and Iraq.

· The House approved of a spending bill that purports to modernize public schools but also nationalizes and regulates school construction and increases the cost passed on to taxpayers by implementing wage mandates.

Apologize for the Holocaust?

There were a few lines in a news story in the May 16 edition of the New York Times on Pope Benedict XVI’s trip to Israel that caught our eye. Speaking of the Holy Father, the story said “he did not seek forgiveness for Germans or for the Roman Catholic Church during World War II. He laid the blame squarely on the Nazi regime….”

We have news for the New York Times: Nazis, not the Catholic Church, were responsible for the Holocaust. Ergo, the burden is not ours. Indeed, the mere suggestion that Catholics caused the Holocaust is obscene. Indeed, millions of Catholics were murdered in the Holocaust as well. So who is going to apologize to them?

Catholic League News Release

In his address to the 2009 graduating class at the University of Notre Dame, President Barack Obama said yesterday that he supports conscience rights for healthcare workers. “Let’s honor the conscience of those who disagree with abortion,” he said, “and draft a sensible conscience clause, and make sure that all of our health care policies are grounded in clear ethics and sound science, as well as respect for the equality of women.”

Catholic League president Bill Donohue applauded the president:

Last August, the Bush administration strengthened the conscience rights of healthcare workers in a new set of guidelines issued by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). But in March the Obama administration said it was going to rescind these rights. It specifically said, “The Department [HHS] is proposing to rescind in its entirety the final rule.”

Thus far, no final decision has been made. But given what President Obama said yesterday, it seems clear that he is now prepared to rescind the decision that was made rescinding conscience rights. For this he should be commended. We look forward to reading the revised proposal.

Pelosi's Stumble

I can't believe that Nancy Pelosi actually thinks we will by her garbage that she had no knowledge that the CIA used the techniques they did. I love how liberals are OK with breaking their own platforms, as long as outsiders don't know about it. As soon as their contradictory support is exposed they deny it tooth and nail. Well, not everyone is as naive and accepting of the loads of garbage they pitch and I think Pelosi is about to get tossed out with the trash.

Notre Dame Endorses Most Anti-Life President Ever

Today Notre Dame abandoned any pretence of being a Catholic University. They threw a great legacy away to bow at the alter of a false, political God. Let's get one thing straight right off the bat; the only thing Obama has accomplished is weakening our national security and spreading a pro-death agenda. I want to point out real fast that Gov. Sarah Palin did speak out in support of our Catholic faith and pro-life culture.

I also read an article I highly recommend that chronicles Notre Dame's slow decline. This did not just happen over night. I have a friend who graduated from Notre Dame in the 90's and he told me Notre Dame was already in decline at that time.

The other day I watch on TV an elderly priest being arrested and carried away. How could Notre Dame ever justify the arrest of a priest? I sincerely hope that Notre Dame quits referring to themselves as a Catholic University. The spectacle I witnessed tonight and the lavish praise heaped on Obama was truly disgusting. The leadership showed their willingness to forsake their faith in order to heap praise on a man who doesn't even think a child born during a botched abortion should receive medical attention. Where is the compromise on life?

Obama seems to think we should compromise. Well, I don't see any way to do that, you would have to forsake your faith and that is too high of a price. These issues are always very personal to me. My grandmother pushed for me to be aborted and repeated that to me several times. Had I been aborted none of my 5 children would be alive. I wonder how many children this world has lost due to this evil. It is not just the child that is aborted, it is also their offspring.

Watching the ceremony it also occurred to me that it seemed more like a political endorsement and a campaign event than a graduation.

Here is a video of Obama receiving his honorary degree:

Here is a video of his speech:

Part 2 and Part 3.

BTW, some are even trying to say that Obama Will Do More For The Pro-Life Cause Than Any President In History. I hope none of my Catholic sisters and brothers fall for that.

Catholic Prayers

Matthew 25:40

And the King shall answer and say to them, Truly I say to you, Inasmuch as you have done it to one of the least of these my brothers, you have done it to me.

Prayer for Aborted Babies

Heavenly Father,
Thou hast given us the gift of freedom
to love and to follow in Thy ways and commands.
Some parents choose to abuse this freedom
by destroying the gift of life
which Thou hast given to their offspring.
Please forgive those who destroy human life
by aborting their unborn babies.
Give these unborn children the opportunity
to enjoy Thee for all eternity,
if it according to Thy ordinance.
Assist me in being one in solidarity with Thy little ones
by taking to heart the words of Thy Son,
"whatever you did for one of these least brothers of Mine,
you did for Me." (Mt. 25:40)
Therefore, allow me today, Father,
to adopt spiritually an unborn child
and to offer my prayers, works,
joys and sufferings for that little one,
so that child will be able to be born and live
for Thy greater honor and glory.
We pray this in Jesus' name,
in union with the Holy Spirit one God forever and ever.
