Wisconsin's Governors Race May Have Just Got More Complicated

The local news is reporting that Doyle may announce Monday that he is not running for re-election.

Catholic Faith Under Assault By An Over-Reaching, Unconstitional Government

CG, a friend of this blog, emailed me an absolutely infuriating article. Once again our Catholic beliefs are under assault, of course, because we are so barbaric and have the audacity to believe that all human life is precious.

This needs to be a wake up call. Please take the time to read the article. It was Catholics who helped elect Obama and the Democrat majority in the House and Senate. It is time that people take their faith seriously or quit calling themselves Catholic.

I watched Raymond Arroyo's "The World Over", which will be re-aired Monday at 9:00 am and the again Monday at 10:00 pm Central on EWTN, in horror last night as his guest Catholic Health Association president Sr. Carol Keehan made every excuse for why it was OK to support Obama's healthcare plan. Also on the show was Judie Brown of the American Life League who made a passionate defense of our Catholic beliefs and values.

Many Catholics, it seems to me, nowadays are supporting socialism. They want the government to provide what should be the church's role. Of course, it is always cloaked in lofty platitudes that we will be able to help more people when in reality all that is accomplished is the ascendancy of government and the decline of God in our everyday lives.

Our rights are granted to us by God himself. The only way they can take those rights from us is if they first undermine God in our society by mocking our beliefs, limiting the exercise of those beliefs, and by limiting the value of human life. Millions of children are dead due to contraceptives and abortion and we are quickly headed to an open acceptance of euthanasia.

When will we wake up and say no further. These rights come from God and you cannot take them from us. It is not going to happen until the Catholic faithful stand up to those who undermine and pervert our faith and those who openly assault our faith.

May God's blessings be with the faithful and our Republic.

Obamacare: Abortion's Trojan Horse

Fr. Tom Euteneuer: From Family Planning to Death Planning

It's time to kiss grandma goodbye. Do it while you can, especially if she is sick. I am not being facetious here. The healthcare debate is deadly serious for seniors and those who will need a greater amount of healthcare in the coming years. People approaching retirement age will be obliged to start planning for death soon, and the government is more than ready to help them. According to this wicked bill, HR 3200, there are generous provisions setting the stage to weed out the weak, infirm and unfit and make room for the fit, all at the government's discretion. The list of chilling dictates that will affect all seniors and ill persons is just frightening [see sidebar for references]. I note just a few relevant provisions from the 1018-page document:

Page 29: healthcare will be rationed by government regulators;

Pages 30 and 42: government committees will be set up to decide what healthcare we can and can't have - a "Health Choices Commissioner" (Commissar?) will be in charge of these decisions;

Page 239: the government will limit and reduce physician services for Medicaid which means that the dependent elderly and those most unable to access other services will suffer;

Page 341: the government will be able to disqualify Medicare Part B and HMOs if they don't get with the program, which means that they can effectively put them out of business as competition; and no one will be able to sue the government for a de facto monopoly on healthcare or for price-fixing (p. 124);

Pages 425-430: "end-of-life" counseling and courses will be obligatory in this heinous bill-by the way, the Hemlock Society (now euphemistically called Compassion and Choices) has admitted to working with members of congress on this section of the bill;

Page 429: nurse practitioners and physicians' assistants can have authority to write end-of-life orders.

Another curious fact: of the 31 occurrences of the word "planning" in the text of this massive bill, fifteen of them are in the sections dealing with death planning (always called "advanced care planning"), nine are in the sections on "family planning" (code words for abortion, sex education and contraception) and the other seven are about government bureaucratic functioning. Isn't it strange that a society which has worshipped "freedom of choice" for so long is now on the verge of surrendering its freedom and choices to government planners?

The only reason we have our elderly being set up for systematic extermination now is because our culture has been so deeply brainwashed by the contraceptive and abortive mentalities that come from decades of "family planning" propaganda. The devaluation of human life at one end of the spectrum leaves the other end of the life spectrum completely vulnerable to the depredations of the power-mongers in Washington. Albert Schweitzer said that "if a man loses his reverence for any part of life, he will lose his reverence for all of life." In terms of the current healthcare debate that would mean: when you sow family planning, you reap death planning. It's that simple.

How ironic that President Obama's so-called overhaul of the healthcare system in this country comes just at the time when the number of senior citizens is set to double. If the "Greatest Generation" gave our nation the technology and the prosperity to have the highest standard of living and best healthcare system in the world - bar none - then that generation will be the first to be killed off by the same technology - and all for altruistic reasons based on lifestyle and efficiency. Needless to say, the baby-boomers are next in line for euthanasia.

Those who still value life and are now being called into a very personal pro-life battle, one that threatens to strike at the very center of our families: our parents and grandparents. Just as we have always stood united in our defense of the rights of the unborn, we must adamantly resist this heinous program to hand over life and death planning to the government. Those decisions must stay in the hands of God. We must resist this wickedness now, while we still have breath.

Catholic League News Release 8/14/09

Catholic League president Bill Donohue commented today on the health care bills:

In today’s New York
Daily News, there is an article seeking to debunk various myths about the health care bills. Unfortunately, the two reporters were guilty of floating the myth that “None of the bills working their way through Congress provides any federal funds for abortion.” Thus does the Daily News join a list of other media outlets that have disseminated this nonsense; AP had the decency to reverse itself.

is in the bills. Here’s the proof: Amendments to explicitly exclude abortion from the bills have been sponsored by Rep. Bart Stupak, Rep. Joe Pitts, Rep. Eric Cantor, Rep. Sam Johnson, Sen. Mike Enzi and Sen. Orrin Hatch. In every case, they lost. Want more proof? When Rep. Pitts asked Committee Counsel about whether the amendment by Rep. Lois Capps would allow the secretary of health and human services (HHS) to cover abortion in the public plan, he was told it did. And since HHS head Kathleen Sebelius supports partial-birth abortion, is there anyone in his right mind who thinks she would balk at authorizing abortion? Want more proof? On Aug. 10, when Rep. Zoe Lofgren was specifically asked about this subject, she said, “Abortion will be covered as a benefit by one or more of the healthcare plans available to Americans, and I think it should be.”

Let’s be frank: abortion is no more mentioned specifically in these bills than appendectomies are, but because both are legal, both are understood to be included. That is why attempts to exclude abortion were made. That they failed should settle the issue. Yet the following pro-abortion groups continue to lie and say abortion isn’t covered: NARAL, Planned Parenthood, Center for American Progress and People for the American Way. Interestingly, is firing e-mails all over debunking five myths about the bills. It is correct on all five. Noticeably absent from its list is abortion. That’s because they know it’s in the bills.

Schiff For Senate Breaks Fundraising Goal

Peter Schiff's exploratory campaign has broken the $850,000 goal and has set a new goal of $1 million. This is very obtainable and if you support Liberty and personal freedom I would hope that you would make a donation or sign up to volunteer.

The only way we are going to change our abusive, out-of-control government is by putting in true Conservative and Libertarian minded candidates. We need people who believe in limited government and fiscal responsibility. We can no longer allow our children's futures to be leveraged.

I believe that our Republic is a blessing from God and that we have a responsibility to protect that blessing.

American Life League Press Release

CONTACT: Katie Walker

American Life League president Judie Brown will appear on EWTN’s “The World Over” with Raymond Arroyo to discuss health care reform with Catholic Health Association president Sr. Carol Keehan on Friday, August 14 at 8:00 p.m. ET.

When American Life League exposed the Catholic Health Association’s campaign in support of President Obama’s healthcare plan, Brown and Keehan were thrown into opposite sides of a contentious debate.

“Simply put, Catholics cannot support healthcare that includes killing,” Brown said. “The Obama plan includes a mandate for tax-subsidized abortion, euthanasia, contraception, rationed care and sex education. Where is social justice in that? Where is the mercy, love and compassion for the weakest in society?”

American Life League exposed the scandal when Catholic Health Association, Catholic Charities and the St. Vincent de Paul Society joined together to support “healthcare reform now.” Their campaign included action alerts to call Congress is support of healthcare legislation and a video that featured President Obama rallying Congress.

These Catholic organizations are contending that they are simply supporting health “reform,” but that line is disingenuous at best when the only health reform on the table is Obama’s abortion and euthanasia mandate. These organizations are putting human lives at the mercy of misguided justice.

“Health care reform should reflect Christ's justice, not Obama's justice,” Brown said.

American Life League was cofounded in 1979 by Judie Brown. It is the largest grassroots Catholic pro-life organization in the United States and is committed to the protection of all innocent human beings from the moment of creation to natural death.For more information or press inquiries, please contact Katie Walker at 540.659.4942.

Catholic League News Release

On August 19, President Barack Obama will join in a call-in and audio Webcast with religious leaders seeking to win their support for a health care bill. Catholic League president Bill Donohue explains why the bishops won’t be on board:

Yesterday, Justin Cardinal Rigali, chairman of the Committee on Pro-Life Activities for the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, reaffirmed the bishops’ position that it is unacceptable to include abortion funding in a health care reform bill. His
letter was sent to every member of the House.

While commending some efforts to include protection for state laws regulating abortion, and leaving intact existing federal laws governing conscience rights, Rigali drew a line in the sand regarding two features of the House bill: (a) he objected to the provision that the Secretary of Health and Human Services would be empowered to mandate abortion coverage in the public plan, and (b) he labeled as a “legal fiction” and an “illusion” the argument that the bill doesn’t, in effect, provide federal subsidies for abortion.

Cardinal Rigali was especially forceful in pointing out low-income Americans opposed to abortion will be “forced by the federal government” (his emphasis) to pay for abortions when they purchase the public plan. Which means that practicing Catholic non-white poor women will be forced to pay for the abortions of rich white women—women who equate abortion with a root canal.

It’s not too late for Obama to get the bishops, and most Catholics, on board. He can bring them back to the table if he follows the model of his predecessors—bar the government from funding abortions as a health care benefit. If he doesn’t, if he sticks to his guns and seeks to coerce Americans into funding abortion, it will be a mistake of monumental importance.

Say a prayer for our soldiers who are willing to defend our freedoms; for grace, mercy, and true repentance for our politicians who have allowed power and greed to lead them astray; for our service and governmental occupation personnel (doctors, nurses, police, fire, emergency, lawyers, judges) to have strength, compassion for all those they meet and serve everyday; for protection of the of the unborn and young children who will someday run our Republic in our places; and for wisdom and resolve for ourselves that we may continue to stand up against all those who would (knowingly or not) destroy our Republic and that we may accept and unite behind the true conservative leaders, in all political arenas, that God has put before us.

Catholic League News Release

The following letter was written today by Catholic League president Bill Donohue to Reuben Daniels, Jr., director of the Equal Employment Opportunity District Office in Charlotte, North Carolina:

Dr. William Thierfelder, president of Belmont Abbey College, was notified in March that an investigation by your office of alleged wrongdoing was closed. At issue was the right of a Catholic college not to provide coverage for abortion, artificial contraception and voluntary sterilization. Now he has been informed that the case has been reopened.

Would you please submit to me all documentation, including e-mails, office memos, and the like, that are relevant to this reversal? For example, if an error in judgment was initially made, it is important to know what it was and who made it. It is also vitally important to know the exact reasons why this case has been resurrected, and whose decision it was.

I am not pointing fingers, just doing my job. And that job is to combat discrimination against Catholics and defamation against the institutional Church. As you know, the First Amendment insulates religious decision-making from the purview of state authorities in most instances. If it is your position that the First Amendment is not operative in this case, I would appreciate knowing why.

This issue arises at a time when millions of Catholics, led by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, are gravely concerned about religious rights being jeopardized under new health care bills. It is important, therefore, that you allay our concerns by providing evidence that there is no animus against Belmont Abbey, a Catholic institution.

Catholic League News Release

Catholic League president Bill Donohue questions why abortion is still included in the health care bills before Congress:

Two weeks into the Obama administration, a Gallup poll reported that the president received high marks from the public on most issues. The one glaring exception was abortion: only 35 percent agreed with him on allowing funding of abortions overseas. It was then revealed in another survey that a majority of Americans now consider themselves pro-life. Given this reality, why hasn’t the president asked his party members in Congress to exclude abortion from the health care bills?

The answer, of course, is that this is the most radical pro-abortion administration in American history. The number of former employees of Planned Parenthood, NARAL and Emily’s List is astounding. So extreme is the president and his staff on this issue that they are apparently willing to sink health care reform before ever excluding abortion from the final bill.

The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), which has long been an advocate of universal health care, is so troubled by the prospect of a health care bill that funds abortion that it has pulled its support. On July 17, Bishop William Murphy said it was objectionable to make Americans “pay for the destruction of human life.” On July 29, Justin Cardinal Rigali also urged lawmakers to scratch abortion from these bills. Moreover, the USCCB has a link on its website to an
Action Alert
written by the National Committee for a Human Life Amendment titled, “Support Health Care Reform That Respects Life.”

The White House now has a “Reality Check” section on its website that seeks to debunk what it says are myths about the health care bills. Videos on the following subjects are available: rationing, euthanasia, veterans’ care, small business, Medicare and private insurance plans. Noticeably absent is any attempt to say that abortion is not included in these bills. There’s a reason for that—every time an amendment has been introduced to formally exclude abortion, it has been defeated.

Changing Face of Priests and Nuns

Georgetown’s Center for Applied Research has released a study showing that men and women entering the priesthood and joining an order of nuns are more likely to be non-white and conservative than their predecessors. Asians, Pacific Islanders, Latinos and Africans make up an increasing share of the new recruits. Also, young women joining an order of religious are twice as likely to join an order where wearing a habit is expected than not.

Those who have been screaming for diversity should be happy. But they won’t be. That’s because ancestry was never the real issue—being a traditionalist or a progressive is what matters most to the diversity dons.

Sister Mary Bendyna, who authored the study, explained why women wanting to become a nun don’t choose to join those orders which are dying out: “Volunteering, social work, working for the poor—they can do that elsewhere.” Precisely.

Update from the House Republican Study Committee (RSC)

RSC Update: Monday, August 10, 2009

From the Chairman
Led by none other than President Obama, top Democrats in Washington are attempting to dismiss Americans’ legitimate opposition to their plans for health care as purely manufactured outrage. Speaker Nancy Pelosi and House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer are even trying to label the anti-Obamacare protesters as “un-American”.

You and I know how ridiculous these accusations are. If this outrage has been manufactured, “Made in the White House” should be stamped on the bottom. The truth is Americans have huge concerns about the legislation supported by the President and his allies in Congress. Tired of being ignored by a President and Members of Congress who are supposed to represent them, the American people have decided to speak up.

All Americans are guaranteed freedom of speech, even if the President doesn’t like what you have to say. So don’t be discouraged by the attempts of some to dismiss your legitimate concerns. Now is the time to get engaged in this debate and add your voice to the millions that are already crying out for common sense to prevail.

Thanks for your support, and let us know how we may help!

RSC Communications Activity
Although the House will be out of session until September 8, 2009, the RSC continues to fight back against the Democrats’ attempts to spin the facts.

· Several weeks ago, Chairman Tom Price (GA-06) delivered a strong condemnation of the Democrats’ proposal for a government takeover of health care. The video clip (found here) has received over 500,000 views on YouTube. We’d love to see it get over one million hits, so please pass it along to your family, friends, and neighbors.

· In a move that reeks of desperation, Washington Democrats have begun a concerted effort to discredit the actions of Americans who oppose their plans for health care as “manufactured” and “astroturf”. The RSC put together this document pointing out the hypocrisy of the Democrats’ claims and the well documented opposition to their proposals by the general public.

· Rather than craft a real stimulus package truly focused on job creation, Democrats chose to spend hundreds of billions of dollars on favored liberal programs. Despite the fact that 247,000 more jobs were lost last month, the White House is claiming they’ve already rescued the economy.

Healthcare Mobsters - Who Is The Real Target?

I was holding off to do this post so I could do some in depth research and inundate you with facts to make my point. Due to my busy schedule I kept putting off writing this post until tonight I just decided that the facts are out there and anyone who is listening already knows them; so I want to write this from my heart instead. I start by asking myself this; who is the real target of these healthcare mobsters coming out of Washington?

People are waking up to the truth about Obama's healthcare agenda. The word is traveling and people are asking questions. When they do get answers they are not the answers they want to hear. This is, always has been, and always will be a free Republic where citizens can expect freedom and the chance of prosperity for their hard work. We have always been a people who look to the future and stive to make life better for our children than it was for ourselves. We are able to enjoy the benefits of invocation because we have always been natural explorers.

So why is it that this administration believes we should give all this up and, willingly or by force, live by third world standards while our elitist leaders live high-on-the-hog? What is so wrong with their minds that they believe in their own delusions that America can be oppressed and destroyed? What insanity would make them believe that any American would even conceive of the idea of putting their elderly parents down like dogs or letting them wither away without treatment because their lives have been deemed worthless by some political mobster in Washington? When did Americans become so tolerant of liberalism that the world, and our own leaders, plot to snuff out entire classes of people through abortion and sterilization, voluntary and forced?

I must be mistaken you say? I can't be speaking of American you say? Have you been listening? Have you been watching? There are those of us who hear what they are saying and see what they are doing and have had enough. These are the people who are showing up at these healthcare townhalls and these are the reasons they refuse to let the elitist continue to lie.

The liberals are so accustomed to Republicans turning their cheek and concerning themselves with the comforts of peace that they truly cannot comprehend or deal with the fact that Conservatives aren't taking it anymore. They cannot even see the difference between Republicans and Conservatives; they believe we are one in the same. They have force fed us so much bull for so long they missed all the signs that we were no longer going to stomach it.

They whined, they called us names, they tried to make us traitors, the bad guy, the nut-job mob. They accused Conservatives of stacking the townhalls and organizing to keep their message from being spread; the plague that it is. When that did not work they became the very thing they accused us of; the very thing they are. They became angry, they organized their mobs, they brought in their thugs, and they locked us out; like they always have only this time in our face.

That is what is wrong with the whole dirty deal; they want to create a socialist utopia where we only serve their agenda and then blow away in the winds of time before we become a drain on their precious, privileged little world. Why else would they expect that you would accept a strained, insufficient, cruel, barbaric, and brutal healthcare agenda while they retain their state- of-the-art, unmatched healthcare for themselves and their families?

Keep up the good fight; we can still make our children's futures better than the lives we have found ourselves living. I would rather sacrifice, fight liberalism, and defend and restore our Constitution today so tomorrow my children can enjoy the freedom and liberty they were intended to inherit instead of the crushing debt and life draining socialism liberals want to put our families in bondage to.

Don't let them lie to you anymore about their healthcare nightmare, their grandeurs of Robin Hood saving the lazy and alleged underprivileged, and their bailout bungles. Don't let them steal your freedom, your liberty, or your life. Let them live by their own life sucking inclinations without us as their puppets anymore. Support and elect true conservatives who will restore and defend our Constitution and our children's birthright.

Yankees Win Again

This disgrace will be avenged. Fans everywhere are outraged by the performance of our Red Sox.
