With senators like Miller in office I hope we will see a Republic wide effort to return to our founders' vision of a limited, contained federal government. I believe founders like Jefferson would be horrified if they were to see the federal government controlling most of the land in the West; effectively limiting the growth and development of those states and forcing them to become dependent on the leftovers DC feels fit to bestow upon them.
Miller has to win first, though, this November. If you would like to support his campaign there is not better time then now. Here is Miller's press release.
Miller Sets Record Straight on Federal Spending
Anchorage, Alaska. September 10, 2010 -- Contrary to his critics' caricatures of his position, Republican US Senate Candidate Joe Miller categorically rejects the notion that his election would result in an end to federal spending in Alaska. "Given our current deficits, we, as a nation, will clearly have to curb overall federal spending over the course of the next several years," Miller said. "But concurrently, the federal government needs to honor the promises made at statehood, and transfer control of our land and resources to the people of Alaska. Until that process is complete, I will fight for Alaska to get necessary federal dollars; however, it is imperative that we as Alaskans not settle for a few paltry crumbs from the federal table. We must vigorously fight for the future of Alaska, and that is bound up with control of the land and resources of our great state."

I have been supporting Walker since he entered the race, however it is appearing more and more like he feels he is entitled to the nomination simply because the establishment supports him. His campaign spent the summer most ignoring Neumann; so the desperate attacks now tell me their internal polling must show the race tightening.
I would be much more impressed if Walker would come up with a detailed agenda for Wisconsin should he be elected governor then going around the state bragging about his brown bag lunches. I don't trust politicians any more and I really don't care what the establishment thinks about you, I want to hear detailed plans for how you will govern so that we can hold you to your word.
Neumann has done that; I am still waiting on you, Walker. No one is entitled to the nomination so let's see you actually care what the voters think and give us some ideas.
SPINMEISTERS TOY WITH RELIGION
Catholic League president Bill Donohue notes several attempts to spin the truth about religion in today's news reports:
· "The Holocaust is nothing but
a superstition" opines another one of those Grand Ayatollahs from Iran, proving
once again that education is no cure for
· The Grand
Narcissist, Stephen Hawking, strains to tell us in his new book that he's
figured out a complicated theory—which "is not a theory in the usual sense"—that
conveniently confirms his longstanding atheism.
· It's nice to
know that in the home of Kings and Queens, critics of the papal trip to England
are accusing the pope of governing an institutional church that is "too
Feisal Abdul Rauf writes an article wondering what all the fuss is about
regarding the building of a mosque near Ground Zero, but never mentions the word
"mosque." Instead, he says there will be "separate prayer spaces for Muslims,
Christians, Jews and men and women of other faiths." Can't wait to see what the
Catholic "prayer space" will look like. And if someone decides to switch
religions while visiting this DisneyWorld of Prayer, it will be curious to see
what happens to the poor
Hartford City Council would not dare open its sessions with a "Hail Mary"
recited by a priest—that would be grounds for arrest—but they have decided to
show their empathy with those who want a mosque near Ground Zero by inviting
local imams to offer Islamic invocations.
The spinmeisters never fail to impress, so thoroughly have they mastered the art of lying. But to use religion as their toy is all the more disturbing.

RSC Update: Tuesday, September 7, 2010
From the Chairman
Over the weekend, President Obama doubled-down on his failed stimulus policies by announcing he would seek another $50 billion for infrastructure. This is hardly the first time Democrats have promised to create jobs with “shovel ready” stimulus spending. They have spent the last six hundred days trying to borrow, tax, and spend away this recession, but the country has little to show for it besides more debt, more obstacles to job creation, and even higher unemployment. Infrastructure is important, but borrowing another $50 billion is not the right answer.
The solutions are clear – cut spending to rein in soaring deficits (and sinking confidence in America’s fiscal solvency), prevent the largest tax hike in history from taking effect in 2011, and remove regulatory obstacles to job creation – like ObamaCare’s insurance mandates and requirement that businesses report to the IRS every single transaction over $600.
Unfortunately, President Obama has shunned these ideas because, from top to bottom, his Administration just does not understand life in the private sector. Small businesses and entrepreneurs are not interested in government programs with political strings attached. They want the chance to reinvest their own capital instead of it being confiscated to pay for higher taxes and burdensome red tape.

Having learned nothing from the first failed stimulus the Dems appear willing to rush headlong into another economically crippling spending binge. This time the people will no longer stand for self righteous politicians burning through the future earnings of our children. This November a great many of them will join the unemployed line and it is past time.
After all, how can you hold your government to Republican principles if you cannot tell the difference between a Democracy and a Republic? How often do you hear someone refer to our great Republic as a Democracy?
A Democracy stands against everything our founding fathers were trying to create. Next time you hear someone call our great Republic a Democracy politely correct them. Especially, if they hold an elected office. We will never reign in central power until we once again have a Republic.
