We should have bombed the living heck out of Afghanistan and Iraq, destroyed any military capabilities they had, and left. It is not our job to rebuild nations who brought war upon themselves through their actions.
I missed the first couple of minutes of the debate, but what I seen from Mr. Ribble was not the limited government approach I was looking for. The only exception was when he discussed education, though I thought he could have went further. We are not going to repair the Republic unless we dramatically cut the size and scope of the federal government.
With all that said, Steve Kagen is still not an option. He is nothing more than a rubber stamp for the radical left.

Washington, DC - U.S. Congressman Mike Pence, Chairman of the House Republican Conference, released the following statement today after the Labor Department reported that the economy lost 95,000 jobs in September:
“The American people are hurting under the weight of the failed economic policies of this administration. On top of the borrowing, spending and bailouts, Democrats are poised to allow the biggest tax increase in American history to take effect on January 1, 2011.
“It’s time for a new direction to get this economy moving again. Congress should come back to Washington and vote immediately to ensure that there will be no tax increases on American families, small business owners, and family farms.”
I was placed in an experimental educational program when I was in 2nd grade and I had to completely re-learn spelling because of it; it set me back years. This program Oklahoma City is instituting not only has the potential of putting already at-risk students at further risk, but teaches an anti-American, anti-white agenda. The parents of Oklahoma City should be outraged that their at-risk students are being used in this atrocious manner.

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- In a speech Tuesday night at a pro-life event in Houston, former presidential candidate Sarah Palin said abortion is an "essential" issue for the pro-life movement in the 2010 elections. Palin said it is important to take advantage of the opportunity the elections present to mitigate President Barack Obama's pro-abortion agenda. [read more]

Rand Paul has released his newest ad "Rand Paul - Jack Conway's Stamp of Approval of Obama".
Scott Walker is going after Tom Barrett on the jobs front. Smart move as Wisconsin continues to suffer job losses due to Democrat rule. Here is his newest ad also.

RSC Update: Monday, October 4, 2010
From the Chairman
Last week, Democrats voted to adjourn the House without even trying to address the looming 2011 tax hikes. Notably, the motion to adjourn only passed by a single vote – clear evidence that there was bipartisan support for Congress to stay in town and stop these job-killing tax increases immediately. But taxes aren’t the only issue in which Democrats dropped the ball – they also allowed the 2010 fiscal year to lapse on Thursday without even attempting to write a budget for 2011.
Massive overspending is driving the national debt higher and higher, yet Democrats have refused to cut back. RSC members offered a smaller, more responsible spending plan that would keep the government running for the next twelve months (as well as a full budget). Instead, Speaker Pelosi pushed through a one-month plan that did not reduce spending and will force Congress back to Washington for a Lame Duck session.
Before leaving town last week, Democrats also brought about 100 separate pieces of legislation to the House floor – such as the bill congratulating the Washington Stealth lacrosse team. Clearly, the Democrat leadership wanted to get some stuff done before going home. One has to wonder why there was not similar urgency to write a budget or act to stop the coming tax hikes.

He is doing so well that the doctor commented if she didn't know about his kidney she wouldn't know anything was wrong with him. He is in the 98th percentile for weight and the 97th percentile for height. It is nothing short of a miracle and I thank the Lord and everyone who has been praying for him.
The race for the U.S. Senate in Alaska is getting uglier.
New ads are appearing which make further allegations of wrong-doing on Joe Miller's part ... or rather, they hint that he might have done something wrong, without coming right out and saying so. One such ad has been running for the last week or so, claiming that when he & his family first moved to Alaska, they applied for (GASP) a low-income hunting permit.
I'm here to tell you that it takes a metric boatload of money to move a family & household up here. We arrived with only our clothes and two cars, and had to start over. Literally, from scratch. Although my wife was blessed with a good job after only one week, I bounced around for a year, from one barely-sufficient job to another, before landing a decent income. [read more]
This is a race us Conservatives have to win. Joe Miller is one of the best candidates to come around in a long time.
The council responded with meaningless dribble like "hostile domestic constituencies" and "Female illegals face everything from “sexual exploitation” and “HIV transmission” to “challenges in access to employment, and health services, including reproductive healthcare.”
Well, I contend that if it were really so terrible in America we would not have an illegal alien invasion to begin with because they would not want to be here bad enough to invade our land. If it is employment, education, and healthcare they want then they need to go back to own country and demand it. Let them file their human rights complaints against their own governments where they have legitimacy.
The privileges in America are reserved for Americans for a reason. those privileges and rights must never be given to illegal invaders or we risk our very sovereignty. Sovereignty has a purpose. It gives us power and independence. Without it we are nothing more that subjects to foreign bureaucracies with no rights, no comforts, no aid, and no freedom. Sovereignty must be protected from all enemies; with no borders there is no protection.
The moment we give up that sovereignty to illegal invaders or foreign governments is the moment our Republic no longer exists. As long as Americans are willing to stand up against those who would attack our patriots, our freedom, and our land America will be the land of the free and the home of the brave.

Unfortunately, due to Michigan's open primary system Rick Snyder won the Republican nomination. He is now proudly going around the state deriding conservatives. If he is already doing that during the election season imagine how he will be once he is elected. It looks to me like Michigan, unfortunately, will continue to be deprived of the economic recovery they are capable under conservative leadership.
