Sarah Palin: Lame Duck President

After listening to the President’s press conference today, let’s keep in mind the following:

This is the same president who proposed an absurdly irresponsible budget that would increase our debt by trillions of dollars, and whose party failed to even put forward a budget in over 800 days! This is the same president who is pushing our country to the brink because of his reckless spending on things like the nearly trillion dollar “stimulus” boondoggle. This is the same president who ignored his own debt commission’s recommendations and demonized the voices of fiscal sanity who proposed responsible plans to reform our entitlement programs and rein in our dangerous debt trajectory. This is the same president who wanted to push through an increase in the debt ceiling that didn’t include any cuts in government spending! This is the same president who wants to slam Americans with tax hikes to cover his reckless spending, but has threatened to veto a bill proposing a balanced budget amendment. This is the same president who hasn’t put forward a responsible plan himself, but has rejected reasonable proposals that would tackle our debt. This is the same president who still refuses to understand that the American electorate rejected his big government agenda last November. As I said in Madison, Wisconsin, at the Tax Day Tea Party rally, “We don’t want it. We can’t afford it. And we are unwilling to pay for it.”

Rep. Michele Bachmann On border security And The Patriot Act

Many Americans, including myself, have been disgusted by the wide-open borders and the prosecution of innocent border agents who are just doing their job. The federal government, under both Bush and Obama, have been adamantly pro-illegal immigrant and they don't care how many American jobs are lost or how bad crime rates become. Big corporations, and various ethnic groups, want open borders and so the politicians cave. But under a President Bachmann we would finally have a president who would put the American interests first just by securing the border and ending the persecution of border agents doing their job. It would have a positive effect, not only on the crime rate, but also on the jobless rate.  It's time we elect a president who is serious about defending America's borders.

Unfortunately, in the same interview Bachmann defends her recent vote to extend portions of the Patriot Act. I can understand how decent people can legitimately disagree on parts of the Patriot Act.  I would like to hear Bachmann explain how she would fix the Patriot Act to deal with the Constitutional issues she sees with some provisions of the law.  It's time we get serious about following the Constitution in all areas, not just a few. Our founding fathers did not intend America to become a police state where citizens are encouraged to inform on each other and we surrender our freedoms to every perceived threat.

Our government is out-of-control and it often turns its citizens against one another so that we are too distracted to realize that the real threat to our peace and happiness resides in DC and our own state capitals.  For America to be great again our government, at all levels, must be shrunk and the people must stay engaged and informed. We cannot afford to allow the bureaucracy to wear us down.  There will be no rest for the weary, if our children are to enjoy a Republic that is a land of opportunity and a bastion of liberty and freedom.

Whoever you choose to back for president, please make sure that they truly understand the Constitution and will fight for it every day. That's why my first choice would be Ron Paul.  I disagree with him on some issues, defense spending mainly, but I know he will fight for the Constitution every day he is in office.  Michele Bachmann would be my second choice because I know she would also fight for the Constitution.

Press Release: Ron Paul Campaign Raises Most Donations from Military

Ron Paul Campaign Raises Most Donations from Military

Outraises all candidates from both parties

LAKE JACKSON, Texas – Today, it was confirmed that the campaign of 2012 Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul has raised more than any other current presidential candidate in donations from members of the military. Of those donors who indicated their occupation and employer, Paul topped the other contenders, a distinction he also achieved during his 2008 presidential run.

“Our fighting men and women take an oath to protect America, defend our Constitution and defend our borders,” said Ron Paul 2012 Campaign Chairman, Jesse Benton. “They look at Ron Paul and see a leader who takes their oath seriously, and who will fight to ensure that we don’t misrepresent that oath by sending them off to police the world, instead of defending our country.”

The X-Files Still Matter

One of my favorite shows of all time is The X-Files and here's an example of why.

Deep Throat: The world's reaction to such knowledge would be far too dangerous.

Mulder: Dangerous. You mean in a sense of outrage, like the reaction to the Kennedy assassinations or M.I.A.s or radiation experiments on terminal patients, Watergate, Iran-Contra, Roswell, the Tuskegee experiments, where will it end? Oh, I guess it won't end as long as…men like you decide what is truth.

Founding Fathers Quote

Without morals a republic cannot subsist any length of time; they therefore who are decrying the Christian religion, whose morality is so sublime and pure...are undermining the solid foundation of morals, the best security for the duration of free governments.

Should Florida Sheriffs Arrest TSA Agents?

The Libertarian Party has sent 67 letters to Florida sheriffs asking them to arrest TSA agents under a law that defines their enhanced pat down contact as a felony.  Florida law also specifically dictates that law enforcement officers, or similar, are not immune to prosecution for sexual (or similar) contact against their victim.

These agents should have been held to the law of the land from the very beginning and it will take sheriffs who are, above all else, dedicated and loyal to upholding the law.  Pray for these sheriffs that God would use them and protect them as hopefully some will brave those waters and find that they have an entire nation supporting them for their stand against lawlessness.
