Today is Victory over Japan Day, a day where we remember those brave veterans who fought their way across the Pacific liberating millions of occupied people and protecting the United States herself from invasion. Unfortunately, with the passage of time we are losing our WWII vets. If a member of your family served, please take the time to record their memories; they are priceless.
I would also like thank all of the civilian workers who built the equipment our armed forces used to win the war. This often over looked contribution to the war effort was vital. It is an important reminder to us now days to not lose our industrial base or allow our fleet to fall into disrepair and be shrunk to too small of a size.
